Weber Sportscars Faster One: The World's Fastest Car?

The Weber Sportscar's faster one is being billed by its Swiss manufacturer as the world's fastest street legal sportscar. It can reportedly go from 0 - 62 mph in 2.7 seconds and 0 - 124 mph in just 6.6 secs. It's a lightweight two-seater with a V8 engine and has serious aerodynamic styling including doors with no external handles, a smooth underfloor that flairs into an upturned Venturi tunnel, and an electronically controlled deployable rear wing.
It might be fast but to me it's a little "flimsy" looking. And for almost $1.6 million dollars I want something both fun to drive and fun to look at.

It doesn't look slippery enough to be the world's fastest (ie highest top speed). However, it may be geared to be the quickest accelerating.

ahahaha ya looks fun, until u find out it uses 30 gallons of gas a hour! then for get about it...

Hey, if you can afford $1.2 Mil for a car, then $4.00 a gallon isn't an issue. To put that fee into perspective, you can total a Corolla every three days for a year and still not spend that kind of cash...

im sorry but for $1.6 million dollars that car should have a lot more. It seems to be missing a lot of things you would expect for the money. I know people who could build you a car to go that fast and be a lot nicer for half that money or even a quarter of it. so i say save your money because one stray pothole and goodbye money. E

Not bad. I figure for just $32,555 a month I can have it paid off in just 5 years.

It may be fast but it's UGLY. Like someone else said, it looks like a bad kit car. Save your $1.6m and spend $120k on a Factory Five kit car like their GTM. Nice looking car, nice lines and if it didn't say Factory Five on the rear (you can always leave it off) you'd never know it was a kit car.

Data doesn't lie, but salesmen do. for .03 seconds of extra acceleration I'd rather be slower and have a Bugatti Veyron, you can't beat beautiful styling when it is bred with power. This schmuck of a kit car doesn't have it.

I think some of you missed what they are saying. It is not the fastest top speed car it is the quickest. 0-62 in 2.7 is like lightning and 0 - 124 mph in just 6.6 seconds is faster than a lot of motorcycles. http://www.nutso.ecrater.com/

Ugly, Bugly.........

I'd rather own a Ford GT...wish they hadn't stopped making it...550 bhp, 0-60 times in the mid 3 second range, top speed 211 miles an hour (unofficial), guaranteed viper killer/corvette bully...all for a paltry $150,000...anybody wanna sell theirs?
p.s.--no one does 55 miles an hour on the highway unless their pants are pulled up to their chest...you know, like an old dude driving a '94 Plymouth Acclaim with the four banger engine option.
