David LaChapelle Remy Martin VSOP Cognac

Photographer David LaChapelle's distinctive va-va-voom style graces a new bottle of Remy Martin VSOP Cognac. The bottle LaChapelle created takes its inspiration from the Paris cabaret scene during the Jazz Age when Remy Martin first appeared in 1927. The design features a curvaceous woman dancing in a brightly-colored jungle. The bottle will sell for $50 and will be available at wine and spirits stores around the U.S starting in June. There will be 150,000 bottles produced. After the jump, recipes for special cocktails which were served at the recent launch party at Smashbox Studios in West Hollywood.
Sex a' Peel
Ingredients:
2 oz Rémy Martin V.S.O.P.
½ of a fresh banana
1 ¼ oz simple syrup
splash of balsamic vinegar
ice, lemon peel (garnish)
Directions:
Muddle and strain banana. Add banana juice with simple syrup
and balsamic vinegar in a cocktail shaker. Add Rémy Martin
V.S.O.P and ice. Shake well and strain into a martini
glass. Garnish with lemon twist.
Melon Baller
Ingredients:
2 oz Rémy Martin V.S.O.P.
¾ cup of fresh watermelon
¾ oz simple syrup
ice
Directions:
Muddle and strain watermelon. Add watermelon juice with simple
syrup to a cocktail shaker. Add Rémy Martin V.S.O.P and ice.
Shake well and strain into a martini glass.
Aphrodisiac
Ingredients:
2 oz Rémy Martin V.S.O.P.
4-5 fresh strawberries
¾ oz simple syrup
¼ oz fresh pomegranate juice
1 oz pressed apple juice,
ice, sliced strawberries (garnish)
Directions:
Muddle and strain 4-5 strawberries. Add strawberry juice with
pomegranate juice, pressed apple juice and simple syrup in a
cocktail shaker. Add Rémy Martin V.S.O.P and ice. Shake well
and strain into an ice- and sliced strawberry- filled high ball
glass.

What a shame that a brand as lucrative and royal as Remy Martin has whored itself out to the lower class masses. Its an abomination that the violent vulgar world of gang-banging rap/hip hop be lent legitimacy, however temporary, by a company of this caliber.
