Russian Tycoon to Launch Magazine for Snobs
Russian precious metals mogul Mikhail Prokhorov, ranked as the 24th richest man in the world with a $22 billion fortune, is set to launch a magazine called Snob for his fellow plutocrats. Prokhorov plans to invest $150 million in the venture, which will eventually include a website and TV station as well, Reuters reports. Andrei Shmarov, who's helming the project, says the magazine will be for "people who are successful and those who want to be successful."
Shmarov is at pains to point out that in Russia, "snob" isn't a pejorative term. "Snob to us means a person who is a 'self-made man', a person who has gained a right to snobbishness," he explains. "It's not pleasant to boast about your wealth when you have inherited it but when you have made it yourself, well it is still not very nice, but it is justified." At least in a country where a measly billion dollars won't even land you a spot on the rich list. Check out their competition below.

"Snob" is a perjorative term HERE and anyone with any sensitivity would avoid offending a country that they so often MAKE their money from. However, Russian men are not known for sensitivity or manners, ask their wives. I have been there and most Russian men I saw had their snobby noses poked into a vodka bottle or were in line at the berioska begging for us to buy them stuff. Snob is not an image that conjures up the vision of a russian man.
Perhaps you meant "snot."

Apparently this is a magazine for the "New Russian":

From the looks of it, they're all moving to NYC to partay. It's interesting to see these how wealth is displayed across the generations.
Example, young tycoons and their snob mags and older people like Warren Buffett, who's worth at least $65 billion and is currently the world's wealthiest person ahead of Bill Gates and the Mexican tycoon (don't recall his name).
Warren Buffett lives in the same house he purchased in the late 50s for $31K, doesn't carry a cell phone, he's not really big on personal tech gadgets and computers, drives the same hoopie from like 25 years ago, he's just strictly old school.
