Please don't give up hope, keep putting one foot in front of the other. Others have been where you are and have come out the other side. I'm a stranger, but I care. NOW, consumer confidence has plummeted gas is $3.50 unemployment is up to 5% American households have seen their home equity drop by $12 trillon and 1% of American homes are in foreclosure. It is due directly to human greed. Every wants what they want, when they want it & then wants some else to fix the booboo when it all falls apart. Here is a novel idea that will make everyone richer than they are right now. Drop the lights & Drum roll please - Stop spending more money than you make! The real problem? Greed, and no sense of responsibility! So many people had to have that big beautiful house and didn't look at what they could afford. It shouldn't matter what somebody tells you you can afford, you know your financial situation better than a broker. And now the popular answer? Walk away. How a person can justify walking away from a home because it is not worth what they paid for it or because they have to struggle to keep it is beyond me! Time to stand up America and own up to your commitments before the whole economy shatters!

ann

Comments on Million-Dollar Homes Up For Auction in Arizona

I am sick of our city, county, state and goverment (so called) representatives who are suppose to have the well- being of the citizens (whom they receive a paycheck to represent) of this countries best interest at heart first and foremost. All seem to have decided that favors for individuals to whom favors and information of financial gain are their objective. It all seems to be about the "ALL MIGHTY BUCK". The pensions or retirement our so called representitive receive are worth more than the majority of their citizen's life-time salaries. Not to mention the perks during the time they hold these positions. The perks of information they are privy to allow them to avoid the financial downfalls and profit from financial upswings unlike the ordianry individual who is trying to work and support their families. Our representatives have to work very few hours to earn the financial gain they receive for making these decisions for us. And the majority of us are going under. Cities, counties and states are raising fee's and taxes for every imaginable reason they can come up with. They use wording to describe these additional costs that disguises the definition so that citizens can't use the no taxation without representation claim. Our city enacted a City User Fee by doing this. If you work inside the city limits you must pay $3.00 per week for using the City's streets to drive on to get to your place of employment. This allows them to collect from a larger group of people. Inside and out of the city limits. Every year the fee gets higher. It started out at $1.00 a week and is now up to $3.00 per week for EVERYONE in your household who works inside the city limits even if you ride together. It is automatically deducted from your paycheck by your employer who submits the fee's to the city. Oh, by the way our govenor, legislators, police officers and other select groups of individuals are immune from paying this fee. I just wonder how long this all will go on before the ordinary people will say no more to this what seems never ending fiasco of getting rich off of the little people? Has anyone seen any of our cities, counties, state or countries representatives Big and Small having to file bancruptcy or loose their homes and cars? Our country seems to be so financially well off we can help starving, sick or homeless individuals in other countries but, can't keep food, gas or health care at an affordable level so the everyday working individual (who isn't asking for a handout) can feed, house, and provide medical necessaties for their loved ones.

KIM

Comments on Million-Dollar Homes Up For Auction in Arizona

Here's a novel idea! Get rid of the credit card companies & the outragious intrest rates that the gov. allows them to charge! Life has it's ups & downs; we all KNOW this and should plan & save accordingly! Most Americans refuse to wait, want or save for anything; thus they have taken themselves and this country down bu overspeending, debt, bankruptcy, and utter wastfulness! Why MUST you have so MUCH MORE than you can pay for? Empires are not meant for everyone, and are not built in a year, or two; they take a lifetime of good planning & afordability! If you work 24/7, obviously your wants are totally over exagerrated, and your purchases are beyond non-sensical! Separate your wants from your NEEDS, prioritise, and make amends accordingly! It will not kill you to turn off the TV cable, read books, eat leftovers, drink water/tea, drive a used/older car, cut your own grass, go without manicures & spa's, bars & golf, movies/shows, cigarettes & booze, expensive trips & vacations... Just eat healthful foods, excercise for fun, read books, walk, socialize, do good works for others in your community, work on your Spiritual Health, and live on a budget like all the rest of the people in the world do; contentedly! If immigrants and singles can do it ALL, by THEMSELVES, couples should be doing better than twice as well! I live in ALONE the most expensive place in the world, with a very good, enriched, happy life, and pay HIGH rent (rent to own plan) & utilities! I've travelled the globe extensively for 35 years, and seen that most people live happily according to thier means; so why can't Americans? It's done by getting your Spirit in balance, and living in contentment, simply according to your means!!! If you've created a life that makes you miserable, GET REAL & GET HELP NOW: see a budget specialist immediately, then a psychologist, and clergy to help you lighten your loads (financially-mentally-spiritually), and a nutritionist/naturopath to help you with stress/health effects from an burdened life! Consider a yard/ebay sale to rid yourself of clutter & things you dont need or use, so you can think more clearly, move more freely, live cleaner (more simple), and breath much easier! Find THE WAY to live in contentment, with or without... It's all inside of YOU! Put your life in perspective and count your blessings daily... (MUCH of the worlds population live on less than a bowl of rice daily, and in ramshackle huts with dirt/dung floors)!
May God bless, help, keep, and comfort you all in the difficult times ahead...

kay

Comments on Million-Dollar Homes Up For Auction in Arizona

While Bush may not be directly responsible, the example that is set is one that only the rich are important, per our President. At the beginning of his second term he addressed the nation of the efforts to do so. No one had objections at that time, interest rates & money flow were good & america was fine with it.

Bush doesn't fill out loan apps. He doesn't serve on corporate boards across america shaping private enterprise decisions.

Now the nation's screaming for gov't regulation of the banking system & mortgage loan processing. Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac are hanging in the balance with upcoming losses possibly in the trillions.

This has absolutely nothing to do with our gov't that we constantly use as a political scapegoat constantly when 100% of this is tied to PRIVATE enterprise throughout America.

If you're fortunate enough to sustain this down time, do it. If you're not God bless you & think very hard of future ramifications of personal decision making. We the people are America, our actions shape & from decision making on all levels,, hang in there...
