Typically, we recommend taking out the stones, melting down the gold and designing something new. Think of it as a beautiful new piece of jewelry designed just for you, because you are worth it and it's Hiss Loss! ;)

Nicole

Comments on Ex-Boyfriend Jewelry: Sell, Trade, Vent?

this is really a great way to go.

patricia owens

Comments on Ex-Boyfriend Jewelry: Sell, Trade, Vent?

I heard about this site on U.S.A today and I think this
is cool, I am a man deeply in love with my wife of 13 years
and she is the love of my life, with the costs of life rising
someone can buy a deal on your site, and can take that
gift your selling and turn it from sad to happy. I like the personal touch of exboyfriendjewelry.com much more, it doesn't feel like they are trying to make money off of your emotion laden jewelry. And can't you just go to a Kay or Some Big Mall jeweler to get an appraisal if needed? I actually would have a harder time trusting having to pay upfront at the other site. Now I just have to make sure to hide exboyfriendjewelry.com from my Wife so I can use it to buy her gifts! Cheers!

Shaun

Comments on Ex-Boyfriend Jewelry: Sell, Trade, Vent?

I think this is such a great idea! I LOVE it!!! I have so many pieces of jewelry from my ex...and it's a fantastic idea to turn my bad memories into someone else's happiness (like Mike said earlier).
As for www.ex-cessories.com, I went there and checked it out, and it sounds like a RIP OFF! The listing fee is $4 PLUS a MANDATORY $50 appraisal fee...THEN you have to MAIL your item to these people (at your own expense, I'm sure)...and then they get 8% COMMISSION off of it! That sounds like a pretty crappy deal to me!

Megan

Comments on Ex-Boyfriend Jewelry: Sell, Trade, Vent?

How do you know you're getting something of value if it's not appraised?

Jill

Comments on Ex-Boyfriend Jewelry: Sell, Trade, Vent?

In response to the comments about www.ex-cessories.com one does NOT have to pay an appraisal fee or send the item to the website. One can easily pay an appraisal fee and then list the item themselves. From my experience (I bought an item from the website and had an AMAZING experience!) fees are set in order to ensure reliability and a higher standard of quality (you can also see a pictures of the 2 girls who started the company and learn about them, which makes me feel much more comfortable). What confuses me about exboyfriendjewelry is why someone would trust any of the sellers? Why are their prices what they are? The pictures of the jewelry also make me some what nervous...

Either way, all I can say is that I have had a great experience with www.ex-cessories.com and they Blog on their own Blog EVERY DAY (which is something nice to have to go check out every day)!

Barbara

Comments on Ex-Boyfriend Jewelry: Sell, Trade, Vent?

I meant easily pay the listing fee NOT appraisal fee...sorry typo! I was all in a huff about these comments because I hate to see anything negative written about young entrepreneurs...people who are willing to actually step forward and take a chance!:)

Barbara
