Wear and Remember. I made alignment to the AWARENESS of protecting the beauty and the precious resources. THIS is always a first step, to become aware.
It was not my company who states Eco Friendly, it is too loaded, I agree. We are Eco conscious, and FYI it has taken me 3 years to get this far and was on the band wagon way before others..... This being said, in my adventures in jewelry land, I opened one pandora box after the other.

SO, yes, now I make commitments to working with dealers who claim to work with untreated product and product that has been tested and approved. Although the NRC does not have any legal documentation or application of passing regulatory standards, there are those that understand how we as consumers may not even know any of what goes on be hind the scenes....

This being said, we all know to be completely "Green" is a luxury. My dream is to hand pick and select my stones, know who has mined them and who has manufactured them.... Big goal for one designer.... But let me say, that the heart of Froote Jewelry is solidly and humbly grateful that even if negative that I can get people to think about jewelry, and also to appreciate all that has come to pass to be able to adorns one self in an aspect of beauty. Yes, from the dark parts of the earth, lots of pressure, and yes the miracle call life!

Elizabeth Moore
Designer/Owner Froote Jewelry

Long

elizabeth Moore

Comments on Froote Jewelry: Beautifully Inspired, Eco-Conscious

Okay, this really irks me about today's blogs. Before commenting, it's fairly pertinent for people to do some research before they ramble on about a subject they clearly know nothing or "In Touch" magazine-worth of information.

Diamonds are created NATURALLY within the earth's core -it is the mining of them and the politics associated in the countries where they are sourced that are up for debate. A diamond is carbon - where, pray tell, is there anything unethical about its mere existence? THat's like saying a tree is unethical - seriously people.

The most obvious difference here is clearly noted between diamonds in W. Africa and diamonds mined in Canada.

W.Africa- slave workers, unethical treatement of people and un-enviromental mining practicies (nevermind the political nightmare that includes dicators, war profiteering)

Canada - same stone, sourced by fair-trade employees, treated under constitutional laws and extracting the SAME stone with minimum emissions practices

This is a rudimentary and BASIC description and if you aren't aware of these differences (or the grade 11 science class that taught you how a diamond is formed NATURALLY beneath the earth's surface), you really have no business commenting on the subject or berating anyone who HAS done their research (ie. Elizabeth) for something you are clearly not an expert on or posses even the most basic awareness of.

dominika wolski
