You'd think, with a five-year soccer contract worth over $250 million, David Beckham wouldn't need any additional money. But he has just signed another big advertising deal, this time for Sharpie pens. Yes, the man who poses for Armani and has his own fragrance deal is now the face of the marker you use to mark cardboard markers. Becks is quoted as saying "I love to use Sharpie markers, so it's a natural choice for me to partner with them." I would have guessed that Beckham would be a Montblanc man. Perhaps they wouldn't pay him enough.David Beckham For Sharpie?

Ummm...actually his contract for PLAYING soccer is about $8-$10M per year. The rest of that quoted value, the $250M, includes the expected value of all of his endorsements. The Sharpie Contract would be included in the $250M estimate, and not above and beyond. Article with more details is here... http://soccernet.espn.go.com/columns/story?id=399597&root=mls25&&cc=5901

Also, the "new face of Sharpie" doesn't actually appear in the (current) TV commercial. Just his name, and ostensibly his signature.

Sharpies are used to sign autographs, I'm sure he uses Sharpies more than ink pens of any maker.

leroy, you're dumb...
his contract for playing soccer is for $25 million per yer...the sharpie contract is SEPARATE from the rest. he has to promote the team for his 25 mil, but he doesn't have to endorse outside product. sharpie is not a sponsor of the soccer team.
get your facts straight...his contracts pays him $25 mil per year...it's not 8-10 with other stuff on top of it...that's why he was forced to go to games when he was hurt. don't make stupid comments...that's why i never really read comments, it's simpletons like yourself who have no clue what they are talking about, but you have the gall to put up your stupid, unresearched facts...just to try and be the first person to quote.
enjoy your day.
