Tiffany & Co. Diamond Cell Phone

Softbank Mobile is in the process of launching their new line of 15 cell phones, one of which was created in collaboration with Tiffany & Co. Japan Inc. The new handset is encrusted with more than 400 diamonds totaling 20+ carats and will cost about $94,000. For that kind of money I hope it looks better in person than in any of the pictures I've been able to find!

The phone is available starting this month in Japan, with the complete line of new phones to be launched by the end of March.

Oh good, Paris and Brit need new cell phones. I was afraid they would get some cheap plastic phone. Whew, crisis diverted.

Its for the idiot rich and famous who have nothing better to do with their money. Cell phones started out as this revolutionary convenience, now media and fashion have found a way to make it trendy. Its for taking friggin calls...its not a damn barbie doll! Grow up people and wake up! These mediums (media and fashion) are making money hand over fist by selling the propaganda! We are the real idiots. Its like waving a shiny object in a baby's face. They're gonna reach for it....We really are a bunch of children fascinated by a new shiny object! If you need to define yourself or feel important by how bling bling and fancy your phone is...you need help!

While this phone and trinkets like it might be obscenely expensive, taking "throwing away money to a new level" might more accurately describe the Iraq War. We've spent trillions there...and compared to that, this phone is no more than a fraction of a penny.

I love it when people call the super rich stupid,everything is relative ... to the super rich 94,000 is like the average person going down the block to buy a cup of coffee ... do you really think they are going to have or want the same cell phone that the rest of us have ?
