Pheasant Hill Farm, Estate of the Day

Today's estate is a slice of American history. Pheasant Hill Farm is located in Carversville, Pennsylvania. The 47-acre property is actually two separate parcels. The main home is on 10 acres and the other 37 are given over to farmland and wooded areas. The main residence is a cluster of frame and stone buildings. It is one of the earliest settlements in the area wit h public record showing a dwelling as early as 1704. The stone home is a country house with four bedrooms and it takes Americana collections to its cluttered extreme. The house and other outbuildings are surrounded by gardens and lawns and there is a large party room on the second level of the stone barn. It is listed at $6 million which is a really high price for the area.

If I still drank, I'd fall down in every room pictured for lack of any reference point. As it is, I feel woozy.
House + property look great.
Time for a yard sale.

The house, property, and landscape is lovely. Although stone historic farmhouses are a dime a dozen in PA so it isn't terribly unique.
However here is a perfect case where the real estate agent absolutely should've insisted on staging the property for photos. Far too cluttered with dubious furnishings and personal items IMHO.

Absolutely. Property lovely, home and estate lovely, but far, far too many dust collectors and knick knacks of questionable value. This goes beyond Americana Whimsy -- it looks like Souvignier Shop or a Theme Restaurant setting at Disneyword. I'd fully expect waitresses dressed in period garb serving me Chicken and Dumplings, here. Clear it out and it would be stunning.

I agree. The grounds are beautiful but too much clutter inside. Looks like a faux old fashion general store.
This owner must really like baskets.
I have nothing against their style, but if they truly want to showcase the house for a sale they should declutter the rooms and walls. Maybe the words "high price for the area" is the key; maybe they are not really trying to sell unless they get an exorbitant offer.
