The Top 10 Jewelry Brands (As Ranked by Wealthy Consumers)

Although anybody can take gold and diamonds and make jewelry, some jewelers have the gift of putting precious metals and gems together to form truly beautiful and inspiring pieces of art. Much like in the art world every person has their own personal tastes and preferences when it comes to jewelry, but of the best jewelers in the world have you ever wondered who was the best of the best? The Luxury Institute in New York did, and so they recently interviewed 500 wealthy luxury consumers and asked them to rate 20 of the world's top jewelers in order to come up with a ranked list of the top 10.
Harry Winston came out as the #1 most prestigious jewelry brand.

As someone that believes you can never go wrong with the robin's egg blue box, I'm surprised to see how high Tiffany & Co is ranked.
T & Co had a period, earlier in this decade, where the catered to the lower-end, market focusing on pre-teens and teens (similar to Coach bags) with sterling silver jewelry to drive their growth and sales. This alienated many of their loyal, traditional customer base. Eventually, Tiffany & Co realized the trend was damaging their reputation as a retailer of high-end jewelry and deemphasized that segment and has now refocused on their wealthier (higher profit) clients.

Very surprised by this list--it's very middle brow. Tiffany, Chopard, Bulgari--they all sort of rest on the laurels of their lower priced items, including perfumes. Give me a real choice, like JAR, Kaufmann, Webb, di Grisogono.

Piaget, Tiffany, Buccaletti, and Mikimoto should all be relagated to numbers 34-37
Bvlgari is much, much better!
