Queen Anne, Estate of the Day

This striking home in the Queen Anne neighborhood in Seattle is perched on a hill so you get fantastic views of the Seattle skyline including the Space Needle. And it has a roof terrace to enjoy those views. Although it is 4500 square feet there are only two bedrooms making it more of a home for empty nesters than families. The kitchen has beautiful countertops and the home had an open floor plan that puts the emphasis on the big windows facing the view. There is also a home theater and a

That's more than a "100 bottle wine cellar". Maybe you meant 1000 bottles?

Maybe they were SAMPLING 100 bottles and at that point lost count.....
Anyway, this has to be the most visually stunning and tastefully decorated home to appear on Luxist in 2008. Just amazing!
We're just beginning to build a new home and there are several things I want to incorporate from this one, especially the granite "backsplash" above and behind the stove.

Its very nice except it looks like someone barfed on those countertops and stove backsplash.

Lovely, tasteful, and nothing leaps out at me and annoys me. I think the granite kitchen is stunning. Very well done!

The granite is "book-matched". A very elegant treatment used in wood for many years. It is an excellent use of this treatment here, stunning!

Gorgeous! Something about the bedroom is unappealing though - I think it's the zebra bedspread. I'm all for animal prints in small amounts, but that's just an odd choice for that room.

stunning.

I'm definitely in agreement with DJ on this one. This is one of the most interesting estate featured here so far in this young year. And although it's still slightly out of my price range (ahem!), it seems very reasonably priced at less than half of what some lesser homes have listed for.
Even though I am a single man, I would still want a home with more than 2 bedrooms though. And is that a 1-car garage I see?
