Tina Turner's Mercedes-Powered LM002 For Sale

Tina Turner wasn't messing around when she went shopping for a vehicle. In true rock-and-roller style, she opted for a Lamborghini (a LM002 to be exact) and had it retro-fitted and personalized with a Mercedes E500 V8 automatic transmission, a 1500-Watt Blaupunkt stereo, and lots of other aesthetic touches. The big news here is not that Tina Turners owns this vehicle, but that she's selling it. It's currently on the market for ?179,000, and although I'm hardly an expert at appraising vehicles that seems like a pretty good deal.

This hardly seems like something Ms. Turner would drive. It doesn't seem quite classy enough for what I'd imagine she'd want.
I wonder if she gets decked out in all her Thunderdome gear before she climbs behind the wheel.

Tina finally woke up and got green. I wonder how many MPG that Lamborghini gets. Vehicles like that and Hummers belong in Iraq protecting the troops not on the street and back roads in America.
Mark Jan 26th 2008 11:08PM
Something like 7 mpg on the highway. It holds the record for largest gas tank and least economy of any production vehicle. It could hit 120 on sand dunes, so it wasn't completely a waste. They're pretty popular with oil barons these days as they're the only ones who can afford the fuel costs.
Mac Feb 14th 2008 10:12AM
Considering it had an E500 V8 and transmission, it was actually capable of 20+ MPG (I just sold my E500 and it could get about 26 MPG all day long at 80 MPH, but I'm knocking a bit off for the weight differential).
Not that anybody really ought to be getting their panties in a wad over that.

This does not seem like any bargan....Another 89' all orig. restored sold at barret jackson auction in 01' for $70k.. modified with system....for Euro179K seems steep. Maybe they'll throw in a set O' 30" spinners?

FYI ALL - SHE HAS LIVED IN EUROPE FOR YEARS. SWITZERLAND AND FRANCE, I BELIEVE, SO YOU WILL PROBABLY NOT BE SEEING THIS CAR ON AMERICAN ROADS ANY TIME SOON.
THE PRICE OF THE CAR IS IN EUROS. AT THE CURRENT EXCHANGE RATE OF APPROXIMATELY $1.47 IT IS PRICED AT $263,136.00

How is a Mercedes 8 cylinder any sort of upgrade from a Lamborghini 12 cylinder?
Frank S Jan 27th 2008 9:20AM
Donate it to Charity.
Victoria Jan 28th 2008 4:02PM
She should auction it off and dontate the money to charity. It's a really ugly vehicle for the price. Defninitely not something I'd want to own. I'm surprised Ms. Turner owns it. It doesn't look like the kind of vehicle she'd drive or even ride in. Maybe she bought it for her German live-in boyfriend and he's decided he no longer wants it.
cyberma777 Jan 28th 2008 3:10PM
Wonder what kind of gas mileage it gets.
Michiboombasti Jan 28th 2008 3:36PM

Way too much money, and what happened to the Lambo engine? Probably who ever did the swap kept it and made money on the deal.
