Octopus Jeans Chair

The fun piece of design might provide an answer for what to do with your designer jeans after they go out of fashion. The Octopus was created by the design team of AtelierBLINK. It is made out of recycled jeans filled with polystyrene balls. The jeans have buttons on the bottoms that can form the back of the chair or be fastened together to form a clinging embrace around you. Want more high-end recycling, check out our gallery of fabulous finds below.

When I went from a size 14 to a 6 I gave 29 pairs of jeans and slacks plus other plus size clothes to the Salvation Army. Does anyone really want to be reminded of fatitude days?

I do know of one good way to use old jeans and that is to make them into a rag rug. The more shades of blue the better it looks
Luckilady43 Jan 18th 2008 11:12AM
I have an idea!! Why not pass your old jeans or your out of style jeans to someone else that can use them? Why use them to make an UGLY chair like this when someone that needs them can be using them? Take them to the Salvation Army or Goodwill.

I found that homeless shelters are very happy to put them to good use - both men's and women's

Hello, I happen to be one of those people who did this for a living. Unfortunately with the way the people are in this world today who can carry alot of CASH in their pocket without having the fear of someone trying to rob you. I am open to any suggestions that anyone might have on beginning this process again in 2008. Thanks! Looking forward to feedback! The JeanQueen

i made a giant comforter out of mine-the ones no one else could ever wear anyway. 8x8 squares.
you can also make paper out of them-cool.

Personally, since leg warmers just came back into "style," I imagine purses made from old jeans aren't far behind. Remember those?
The quilt idea sounds good. I still sleep under some of my granny's quilts.

I agree with the posters that say donate the jeans. wat the hell would you do with a chair made of jeans? who has time to put it together anyway? I have almost no time getting my girls jeans off for a little bit of pleasure with our work schedules and such....

Recycled jeans can be used as insulation for housing. Beats the fiberglass stuff.

I thought this was a very creative and hilarious way to recycle jeans. Whoever thought of it sure has a sense of humor. It made me howl with laughter and laughter is good for you health.

I donate my unwanted clothes.
Oh, and this chair is FUGLY!!..why would i do that when there is so many people that can't afford to buy clothes.

turn old jeans into cut-offs. I aways thought those were very sexy on girls. Remember the commercial "who wears short, shorts" ?

Well, Good Will doesn't give the clothes to people in need they resale it and give a small portion to people who needs help. I think a shelter or a church might be a better option.
