Every time a story of celebrity hotel theft hits the news I wonder why celebrities travel with so many valuables. The latest to lose her bling is singer Dionne Warwick.
Thieves stole two rings, a necklace, a pair of earrings and a Rolex watch worth more than $100,000 total from the singer's room at the Hotel De Russie. The rooms at the hotel
have safety deposit boxes but Ms. Warwick left her jewelry on a night table. What's really interesting is that the robbery occurred in the same room at the hotel where Cameron Diaz encountered a pair of thieves seven years ago.

Celiterties are very rich and are not careful about their jewelry. They love to show them off. She was in a hotel for crying out loud. so how sad, not to have them in a safe where they belonged. Hotel workers are not known for being very honest. I hope she has learned from this., and i hope others have too. Some people will take your false teeth if you have any. No sympathy for her.

Just think if she would have done as she should have knowing all alone it was the same hotel and the same room as the previous robbery she would still have her items. Hummm want to bet that she had insurance and they were the ones that took the hit in the bank account. Sounds a little questionable to me.

I have no clue if true or not, but, am guessing......"nah"!
My guess would be it's a publicity stunt, simply because (as of late) she doesnt have much going on.
Example....had anyone ever heard of Paris Hilton before her stupid sex video? Then, all of a sudden, we cant turn on the news, open a paper, etc without seeing her.
So, I gaurantee over the next few weeks it's going to be all about Dionne Warwick" just to get her name back out there. Happens all the time!
And, not a bad thing....I happen to love her!

She deserves the insurance money for her loss as much as anyone.

the low IQ people are out populating the high IQ people
in this world ....plain and simple... it shows on this PC everyday... the Low IQ people are voteing into office people that kiss up to them for a job... this world needs something
to stop all this ... look on the streets and see what is walking around....

And some low IQ people even know to drop the *e* before adding *ing*. Who knows if Ms. Warwick's alleged theft was real or made up for the benefit of collecting insurance proceeds. Both scenarios happen quite regularly and, yes, some even involve celebrities.

Don't blame the hotel nor the staff. I would put the blame, if you will, on Dionne for the fact that she KNEW there was a safe there in her room, SHE SHOULD HAVE USED IT. The ins. co. MAY decline payoff for NEGLIGENCE on her side for not using the safe. I travel all over the world also, I USE ROOM SAFES ALWAYS. When we do millions & millions of dollars for commercial lending, with all the documents we have, we need the protection of a safe to protect our clients.

It's funny when someone calls someone else a "moron" but spells it "moran"
Kathy Jan 11th 2008 12:35PM
Hey Crybaby get a job! Too bad you have to wear cubic zurconia. Dionne has made her millions so why should she wear the fake stuff. Don't be so jealous!

all I have to say is I don't trust no hotel so what lil jewels I have I sure don't leave them laying around. if there is a safe in your room and you have jewels that valuable use it people , I'm sorry but that was dumb on both hers and Cameron's part.
Michelle Jan 11th 2008 12:36PM
What the hell is a MORAN>>>>YOU MORON????????
Isabel Jan 11th 2008 12:39PM
Now, why would Dionne need $100K?
woodforme Jan 11th 2008 1:00PM
I think she is on the past due tax list here in California

She looks like Samuel L Jackson.

Assuming Ms. Warwick's jewels were, indeed, stolen; how does this make her the idiot? It's a sad world we live in when the victim is the one being blamed when the crime was committed against her. Ms. Warwick should have been able to leave the entire contents of her jewelry box on the bed when she left the room and have them there when she returned. Unfortunately, we live in a world where it is necessary to lock your treasures in a safe and even then there are no guarantess that you won't be victimized.
Anyone who thinks that Ms. Warwick deserves to be without her jewels because she let herself be vulnerable to someone with no consicence, well, that is just a mean spirited, nasty comment and I pray that you or a loved one will never be on the receiving end of someone else's cruel and devious behavior.
How pathetic that anyone would think for even a moment that another human being desrves to be treated badly because they were momentarily vulnerable. You are the sad kind of people who would believe that a rape victim got what she deserved for wearing a short skirt.
I genuinely feel sorry for people that have such a hard time being kind to others and think it is a sign of intelligence to spew their hatred while safely hidden behind their keyboards.

I agree it was stupid to leave them there or carry that much to begin with, but nobody, celebrity or average person should have their things stolen. As for "morans", the only "morons" are the ones who cannot spell
M O R O N....

who effin cares how she spelled the dam word...u understood her right? (morons)
Samantha Jan 11th 2008 1:38PM
There is no price tag for sentimental value. I am sympathetic to Ms. Warwicks situation, but if she chose not to use the safety deposit box, then she CHOSE to make a gamble.

Why is it when a Black person claims something is stolen they have to be lying. But when someone other than a Black makes the same statement, it become beliveable. Something is wrong with the thinking process of those, as well as their biased views when it comes to Black people. Think about it.
