Atlanta's Aquarius Tower To Get A Boost From Windpower
Every condo project wants to be considered "green" these days but some take it further than others. The Aquarius Tower in Atlanta, Georgia is a condo project located near the Georgia Aquarium and Centennial Olympic Park. The 500-foot tower will have a serious commitment to alternative power: a five-floor wind tunnel with about 60 small turbines and rooftop solar panels could provide more than half of the building's power. The project will also recycled building materials and thermally efficient products. Amenities will include a pool, sundeck, fitness center, lounge, media room, guest suite and concierge services. The building will also have Georgia's first automated underground valet service. Prices start as low as the $300,000s to the $900,000s and penthouses will range from $1 to $2.5 million. It is hoped that construction on the $70 million project will begin this spring with an estimated completion in 2010.[via the Atlanta Journal-Constitution]

I'm currently selling my 975 sq.ft. 1 bed / 1.5 bath + den two story loft/condo in altanta for only $210,000. And i can't seem to get any bites. How do these guys expect to sell an 800 sq.ft. 1 bedroom for $300,000+? Sure the plans look nice and it has a few nice amenities, but $90,000 is a lot to pay for a nice view...

No its not, you're travelin' in the wrong circles. Plus its not just the view, it will become one of the right circles, the amenities, the newness, etc.

what is strange is that the bigger or nicer condo's master bedroom backs up to the elevators...that can't be good.

I think you've made a mistake in the cost of this project--there's no way it's 70 million dollars, maybe 700, not 70.

Atlanta needs to close down the strip clubs and junk yards littered all along the adjacent Marietta Street before they can expect people to move into this building at that price.
