Jay-Z recently stepped down as the head of Def Jam records, perhaps because he's got a new project, a chain of five-star hotels. Various sources are reporting that he
recently paid $66 million for a piece of land in Manhattan's Chelsea neighborhood in order to create the first of his new J Hotels. Jay-Z, born Shawn Carter, already as a clothing line (Rocawear) as well as his own bar chain, the 40/40 Club (he opened the Las Vegas 40/40 Club over New Year's) so this deal seems more secure than some of the others we've seen, such as Nicky Hilton's attempt at the hotel business.

I'm glad to see a man using his brain to create an empire. As far as giving to Charity, I'm sure he does. If for no other reason then for the tax break. When you are making that kind of money you need to give a good chunck away for the tax break otherwise taxes would kill him.

You arent looing at the fact that we is providing jobs, he has other organizations that help communities. and if he didnt want to give a dime of his money away, guess what he earned it. Get a life people... you people amazes me that have the vocals to chat about something that you dont have..money.. because if you did you will not have time to respond to this... so basically haters, get a life and go serve in a soup kitchen and go make a difference so your concerns arent on the next man

Jay-z currently is helpinf Africas war torn and poverty stricken citys get clean pure water. Readup on you people beofre you say such things. Many celebrities give to charity they just dont publish it . You know why because gossip sales and sweethearted famous people dont.
