Whenever I got a new cube, I would pop it apart and grease the moving parts with vaseline so it would move smoother. Then you put it back together. My friends and I had speed competitions. That's why you wanted one that moved smoothly. The actual namebrand Rubik's Cube was built the best and moved the best. You could tell just by the "feel" of it if it was a real Rubik. But $600, thats crazy. There is no way I would buy a table that costs that much for a kids bedroom, which is the only place in my house I can see this going.
