England's The Daily Mail has a fun piece on just how much some top celebs are spending on handbags. There aren't any Americans on the list but one recent transplant to the U.S., our favorite free-spending Spice Girl tops the list. According to the piece Victoria Beckham has been spotted this year toting around an astounding £23,625 in purses. And that's just seven bags, I am pretty certain Posh Spice has a lot more bags than that in her closet. The number shown at right, a little purple Hermes clutch to match the purple and silver dress she wore to the Marc Jacobs show in September cost a cool £3,000.By comparison, Kate Moss came in with just £11,390 in pricey bags. I'd love to see a list of American celebs with a bag addiction. Who would top the list? Now that Lindsay Lohan is reportedly broke I would guess that either Paris Hilton or perhaps one of the Olsen twins with their endless parade of giant Balenciega bags might top that list.

A whole village in Africa can get clean running water with just a $30,000 donation toward a well. I'd rather carry my wallet there than carrying it in handbags which will be out of season in a matter of months. Too much wealth spent on yourself is personal bankrupcy. We're becoming ridiculous in America with our luxurious pursuits of self.

I guess these bags make her feel good about herself. She use to be cute when she was younger. I met her in person at one of the SPICE GIRL concerts. She looks so artificial now. I wonder if she's really happy? She seldom smiles in any picture I've seen of her. Goes to show you, MONEY doesn't always make you happy. Sad... poor children...

I think she has the idea that if she smiles she won't look as good or something. I wish some of her friends, if she has any, would tell her that a big smile would be her best accessory. I heard her say on a TV interview that she "Cannot be seen to be eating!" What is up with that? As if she never eats?
If she doesn't like her teeth it isn't as though she can't afford to have them fixed!

It is our fault that these people live this way. Americans need to start boycotting sports that pay their talent way to much money and manufacturers who pay stars for endorsements. I swear our house will never drink another Gatorade after they gave Tiger Woods $100 million a month ago for promoting Gatorade. He was destitute I know and really needed the money. YEAH RIGHT......People should start a national movement and change this crap. You wonder why we pay more and more for things. Well I guess Posh needs to buy more pocketbooks.
