Town Sells on eBay for $3.8 Million
You really can get everything on eBay, even your own "Unpopulated 1 House Texas Town."Gee, I've always wanted one of those.
Albert is not the first town to get sold on eBay, but it's the latest. Just north of San Antonio, Texas, it consists of 13 acres that houses a tavern, a dance hall, a tractor shed, a 3 bedroom house, and a couple peach and pecan orchards. There's no post office and no permanent residents, but it sold for $3.8 million dollars to a bidder from Italy -- which was well over the reserve price which was set at only $2.5 million.
Do you suppose the winner bought it as some kind of over-the-top Christmas gift for somebody? That would be so fun!

CONTESSACM: Albert,Texas is not a hole. The true hole is wherever you live--because if you live there it has to be a hole.

In the middle of nowhere? Maybe. But it sits closely to another nowhere town you may have heard of, Luckenbach. You'd be surprised how much money Luckenbach generates for being nowhere. Albert could do the same thing under the right leadership.

That would make a perfect gift. As long as there no taxes to be paid. Just think, peaches and pecans are a hot item. A dance hall could be built and soon you might have a few inhabitants. Line dancing is the rage now-a-days.

That town is not in the middle of nowhere, it's close to Johnson City, Austin and other cities. The hill country of Texas is prized real estate and I'd love to have my 25 acres in that area. Mine is closer to Tyler.

Did I mention Texas has no state income tax.

Hole in the middle of NOWHERE? Let me tell you. It is most likely will to turn in to another Luckenbach, Tx. That tavern and dance hall could be the biggest Harley hang out around. Between Austin and San Antone! Hole? I think not. With the right money, It will make money.

That would make a perfect gift. As long as there no taxes to be paid.
Just think of the possibilities; peaches and pecans are a hot item. And Line dancing is the rage now-a-days. Peace and quiet is the thing.

When it comes to knowing land, we of Italian background know its value. Those 13 acres could become a gold mine one day.

Way to go for the buyer from Italy he found a bit of Americana heaven. Kudos to all the folks from Texas who are letting us know about the plusses of the city of Albert, Texas.
