Anne Frank Chestnut Sells For Over $10,000

In what appears to be a fairly sloppily (is that a word? I say yes it is...) put together eBay auction a chestnut that fell from the famous tree mentioned in Anne Frank's diary sold for $10,240.

Most of the time in these situations I think people overpaid, but I'm not so sure that this chestnut wasn't worth it. Assuming it's genuine and it sprouts a tree (if the new owner decides to plant it) it is a serious piece of history that will grow and create future pieces of history. That is so much cooler than paying money for something that's just going to sit in a room gathering dust. Nobody likes a dusty nut.

who cares about anne frank, so she wrote a book and very possible made it more dramatic, of course, i wouldent buy it and i wouldent read it,,

Lenishea. There is one book you should look at, it is called a dictionary. This book can help you spell words correctly however it cannot help you correct your twisted attitude.

Dear Lenishea

Perhaps if you read Anne's diaries and other works of literature, you may be able to spell, punctuate and construct a sentence. Oh, and 66 million people bought and read the Diary of a Young Girl - not including those people who read it at school or the library. That's who cares.

I'm kind of a dusty nut myself! LOL! Ann Frank created a dynasty with her famous wrightings and suffering! Anything that renews interest in them is very precious in my opinion. S.Laufer

listen, and listen very good, i am not jewish anmd what ever the have to sell or sell, its only to make money, of course she put more in that book then the trues, did the jews ever wrote about how much the hated jesus and why the had jesus ordered to die on the cross ?? no the did not, those cowards,the are the biggest murderers this planet has ever seen , the holocost was only part of their sentence,,and as you know yourselve the jew will never find peace on this planet, a doomed race,

and to mention what the jews been trying to hide,, their background is arab , with diferend tribes who roamed the desert as nomads for centurys, an arab tribe who was never exepted by any country in the middle east, i would say 98% what ever the rote was made up to gain symphacy , and as the know themselvs it still holds true to day, the couldent settle in europe so the had to come back to their native land the middle east, to invent a state for themselvs ,only palestine under french rule allowed the jews to steal land from the palistinian , yes steal, the dident buy , or ask, and we know that for a fact,

muslims , made up their own religion made up their own god, a god of gold, while moses wandered around on a mountain talking to a burning bush, i wonder what he was on, those tales should never be believed,,what the did will never be forgiven and we have proof over that this whole planet is against them ,, do we need any more proof then that ?? no it shows over and over and over , that their created god is really a dud , a dead god who is never there when the need him,, or tells them ,, hey, i am bringing you wealth, but fight your own battles,, no i am not interested in anne franks book,,

For that kind of money, you could fly to Holland, stay for a month and go get the chest nut yourself. For free.

Far as the chestnut, I'd roast that sucker over an open fire and then it would be part of ME.

Far as Anne Frank's diary...I prefer the uncensored version.

In regards to the Anne Frank Chestnut..

I wanted to let you know that the seller and I agreed to donate 100% of the auction price to the Anne Frank House.

This can be verified by contacting Saskia Mathéron at the Anne Frank House.

The chestnuts (10 sent) will be donated and planted at middle schools in the U.S. that have a suitable climate for the trees.

Lenishea,

Anne Frank did not write a book, she wrote a diary. It was found amongst possessions left in the attic in which they were hiding. She left it there when she was taken to the concentration camp where she died. Her father found the diary and kept it. It was eventually published as a book.

And she did not try to make it dramatic! Its a diary, ever had one? You write about passions, feelings, and more. And when you are a teenager everything is more dramatic to you, and you write like its the end of the world sometimes.

Read it, before you judge it. Be informed before you make bold statments.
