The 10 Hardest to Get Restaurant Reservations
This is the time of year where special occasions and rare visits from family and friends are plentiful, and although home cooking is a big part of the season so is eating out -- because when people are in from out of town you hardly want to take them down to the local "all-you-can-eat for $4.99" buffet to celebrate their visit. But if you don't want to get stuck choosing between either the buffet or McDonald's then you might want to plan ahead, because as we all know everybody else in town is going to have the same idea! If you have plans to hit the local fine dining hot spot this holiday season you better check to see if it's on this Forbes list of the top ten toughest to score restaurant reservations:

Gorden Ramsey's restaraunt should not be hard to get into. From his show of character on his show Hells Kitchen, I would never want to retreat to a place with such a hostile person running it. We are trying to make peace in the world. Not disgruntle cooks complaining about food that is cooked for people. What about the last supper would he complain and carry on there?????

Pizza Mozza is definitly worth waiting for a reservation - We called in I think it was a monday and they told us the next reservation opening will be next sunday! We couldn't believe it! We told the girl on the phone that we are only that day in LA and she said we could just walk in and try to get a table. At first we didn't think that we would get in that fast - but we actually just walked right in and got a table! The food was incredible good!! I don't think we will be as lucky next time but we'll try because it was definitly the BEST pizza I ever had eaten!

Obviously Rigel Gregg is such a lightweight that he's never heard of Rao's in NYC. Gregg will be an old man before they take his phone call.

Whenever I am in New York I have one lunch at Le Bernardin. I have never had a problem getting a reservation for the afternoon I wanted although not always for the exact time I preferred. But, so what. It is always a great dining experience and worth every dollar.

No place is worth a long line or tough reservation.
Novelle cuisine is small portions, big prices.
My rule is never more tha 15 minutes wait or else I'm outta here. Don't need fancy, smancy food and attitude. Don't get me wrong, I've been at the high end "kuizines". They're really not up to their hype.
"Kuizine" seems to be used by anyplace to give themselves the the upscale whatever.

The toughest place for anyone to get a reservation for dinner is---my home. I don't let just anyone come to dinner at my home. By the way--my home is also the very best place to have dinner. The food is better, the food is less expensive, and the staff is more friendly and courteous.

I've had a lot of great meals, but nothing beats the fish and sunset at Cafe 52, but getting a reservation is more like landing an invitation. You have to know somebody to even get the phone number of the proprietor let alone get an invite to make a reservation. Once you get on the list, getting a reservation for a couple of the 12 seats is much easier. Good luck! Hans

If you ever find yourself in the Cleveland area, do yourself a favor and secure reservations for dinner at Giovanni's,,,,,,,actually located in Beechwood, Ohio...specifically Cedar Rd. It is very deserving of its 5 star rating. The ambiance is incredible and the food ....superb. The winelist is extensive,,,,,the service is the best in town. The cuisine is obviously Italian....and the very best of it. Its a rare treat.
