One of the ultimate compliments that can be paid to a product is a seal of approval from one of the most influential women alive: Oprah Winfrey. Getting on her "Oprah's Favorite Things" list has got to be a nice feeling and a nice boost for sales -- even for already well-established brands and products. It must be nice for Oprah to have people so interested in sharing her personal preferences in everything from electronics to cupcakes that it warrants a whole show. and (generous spirit that she is) she of course gave all these goodies to one lucky live audience in Macon, Georgia. I would venture to guess that 100% of Oprah's "Favourite Things" are sponsored; I doubt she's ever made a panini, much less with a cheap-ass panini maker.

I totally disagee with you guys. I think the only thing that oprah has to gain from is when she includes one of her own products. This year it's the O collection, other than that I sincerely think that the rest of the list is of her REAL favourite things. I disagree with Jessica. I've purchased some of Oprah's favorite things and they have become my favorites as well. What she gives is recommendations...not the Holy Grail!
