Why dont you just bring a bible along with you if that what you believe in and want to read. Not everyone that stays at hotels believe in the bible. so if they should continue to supply a bible to read dont you think they should supply every other "religions" book they bide by? its time to move on people if you like to read the bible than carry it with you, lets get on with the times.

Right on...we have removed God from our culture at our own peril. Look at our public schools and the dangers there as a start...

I agree with Dianne, those who don't want to see the Bible don't have to take it out of the drawer. Many people came to the U.S. as a result of a loss of religious freedoms. I am glad I live in a country that allows me to worship openly. The right not to worship is also protected.

this country was not founded on "god"
This country was founded on escaping religious persecution. Bring your own bible, Koran, or whatever when you go out of town next.
We live in a free society that should remain unbiased towards any one religion.
I think the luxory hotels offer a nice service in asking you which news paper would you like to receive in the morning. Perhaps they could do the same with Bibles. In the end, we may save a few more trees.

I agree wholeheartedly! This news really shocked me!
I will not give my money either, when there are so many other things that could have been removed! It will be interesting to see where this goes. How many people are willing to forgo "luxury" on this earth to stand up for something so important?

To those of you who don't believe that our country was founded on Christianity (Christ, God) and are just insistant on taking Christ out of everything as if you would even exist if it were not for GOD who created the Heavens and the Earth, in the end times your better believe you are going to greatly regret your blatant disrespect.

It would be nice if people on both sides of this issue would respond with charity. From my perspective it seems that hotels should be happy to accept Bibles that are provided FREE by organizations such as the Gideons. Few if any hotels pay for Bibles. My wife and I frequently use hotel Bibles because our own is usually packed and we do not take all of our luggage into the hotel for one night.

Thee article states that the bibles are available free of charge by request as well as other religious texts. Perhaps they simply do not want to alienate their non-christian guests. I think it is a smart move. It also will prevent non-believers from de-facing books.

On A Recent Return Flight From San Fransisco, Ca. To Los Angeles, Ca. I Met "Frank", He Sat In The Seat Next To Mine. Once Our Conversation Came To Our Professions, He Said, "Well..., Beleive It Or Not, I'm A Door To Door Salesman! I Sell Porno & Other Adult Products, To Just About Anyone Who Wants It,...And I've Never Done Better Financially!" As Our Conversation Continued, Frank Said, "Wow, This Is Going To Blow Your Mind!" He Then Composed Himself For A Moment, "For 12 Years Prior, I Sold Bibles, Holy Water, & Other GOD Products! And Lost My Ass, 2 Houses, A Wife & 3 Kids!"
That Was About 3 Weeks Ago, & Until Today, I Really Never Thought Of Our Conversation Again.
But Now, It All Makes Such Sense, I've Never Seen Anything More Clear,..."God, You Need A New Marketing Agency, Because The One You're Using Is From The Dark Ages." Infact, "Their Advertising Campaign Has Been The Same For Over 2,000 Years, It Would Take A Miracle At This Point!" I Wouldn't Hold My Breath!! Oh Yeah, While At His Lowest, & Desperatly Needing Employment, Frank Said To Me, "I Just Put Everything In GODs Hands, & He Showed Me The Path To The Work That I Do Now!"
I'm Not Sure If There Is A Moral To This Story Or Not, But It Might Go Like This,... "Make Sure To Check On The Marketing Department From Time To Time, & If All Else Fails, If Ya Can't Beat 'Em Join 'Em!!!"

I couldn't agree more... I have lots of experience with different coultures and know that the reason the English moved to America was to escape the religious rule of Britain, but I think that the Bible is a part of our heritige and we should honor it.
