GOLD TENDS TO BE REALLY SOFT, ESPECIALLY ANYTHING ABOVE 14K GOLD. THE PLATING WOULD SURELY COME OFF, BUT THEN AGAIN, SINCE THEY ARE CRAFTSMAN, ONE SHOULD BE ABLE TO RETURN THEM IF THEY GET MESSED UP, RIGHT? IF I HAD THEM, I WOULDN'T USE THEM, BUT THEY ARE PRETTY NICE TO LOOK AT I GUESS. I SUPPOSE I WOULD RATHER USE THE $119.99 AND BUY MORE "REGULAR" TOOLS THAT ARE NOT SO "CLASSY". I CAN ALWAYS USE A NEW SET OF REGULAR WRENCHES OR SCREW DRIVERS, DRILL-BITS AND SUCH. I ALWAYS SEEM TO HAVE ONE OR TWO THAT SOMEHOW GET "LOST", AND DOESN'T THAT JUST PISS YOU OFF WHEN YOU ARE WORKING ON SOMETHING AND THE ONE YOU NEED IS LOST AND IT TAKES YOU 10 TIMES LONGER TO FIND THE THING THAN IT DOES TO DO THE JOB YOU NEED IT FOR? HA! THAT ALWAYS SEEMS TO BE THE CASE WITH ME AT LEAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!

earls3

Comments on Craftsman 22k Gold Plated Wrench Set

Nice but who wrote the headding ... gifts "A LITTLE MORE THAN $25"? Should be "STUPID GIFTS" I am a mechanic and would not waste my money on SHOW SET and would never use. If you have so much extra money you can buy gold plated tools, why don't you donate it to people who don't have food.

I don't have money to throw around, but like to dress like I do. I shop for bargains. I shop through an online shopping mall that has over 1000 stores (including Macy's, The Gap, Apple, Target, Sephora, DELL, Best Buy..most of the biggies) that gives you back 5-55% in cash on all your purchases. Better have plenty custodial products and air spray around when they see a mechanic with Gold tools. "Thay will be $2500.00 for the tire rotation". "That is $50 for the rotation and $2450 tool depreciation charge, Thanks". I watched my Dad repair a car using a screw driver, pliers, open end wrench and a hammer. I know people who buy fancy plates, but consider them too valuable to eat from... or who have a nice tomcat, but cut off his claws and his balls... I could say the same thing about all the computers that are being used to type these meaningless comment, all of which cost more than $119. Don't you get it? We buy stuff because we like STUFF. In the end, not much of ANYTHING we own is actually a necessity, and is therefore as worthless as those guilded tool sets. Remember in 2nd grade when we learned about mankind's 3 basic needs: food, clothing, and shelter? Well, think about all the stuff we own that goes way beyond a needs basis. If you want to really make a difference, get off of your computer and start going out to homeless shelters and feeding those people yourself. If you don't want to, that's up to you. But reverting to an ad hominen fallacy to try and change someone's mind is wrong.

joe

Comments on Craftsman 22k Gold Plated Wrench Set

Are these made in China also ?

Curt

Comments on Craftsman 22k Gold Plated Wrench Set

come on, everyone missed the clue. Gift, give a gift to the people whom could apprediate these wrenches. A true mechanic would be proud to get these wrenches, just to have in his tool box to show co workers and conversation what would last as long as one would stand by that tool box. I don't think they were ever meant to be used, just to stand back and appreciate the good warm feeling of having them to show. I think a good mechanic would love to have as a gift, but doubt if they would buy for there own use.
