Whimsical Glass Faucets from James McKelvey

Not only is this faucet beautiful but it also appeals to the whimsical child inside of me that still secretly gets a kick out of using silly straws. Bright vibrant color combines with the natural beauty of glass for a unique visual impact. Standing tall above the vanity the James McKelvey collection of glass faucets feature a ribbed hand-blown design in lead-free crystal that is easy to clean and bacteria resistant. And they're not only beautiful to look at, but to use also as the water will stream down from such a high vantage point. Available in a variety of heights, colors, and single or double-twist designs, you can easily fit it into almost any color and decorating scheme.

Knowing me I'd hit it with the hair dryer and break it into a million pieces!

Beautiful, not very practical and I am sure way too expensive.
I am a bargain shopper. Do all (or most of) my gift shopping online through an online mall that gives you 2- 55% CASH back on all your purchases at over 1000 stores (the Gap, DELL, Target, Best buy, Blue Nile Sephora...)

Have to admit they are nice looking faucets. To me this is the type of faucet you put in a Guest Bathroom that does not get used much or where children love playing with the water.
I'd be curious to see how much they are and if they offer a "Product Replacement Plan" in case of damage.

The word "WOW" comes to mind. But, alas, it wouldn't last a week around me. Sad.
ELAINE Nov 14th 2007 9:45AM
Hmmm. I can imagine red & white striped for Xmas! : )

you can have these in you bathroom for about $2200. the faucet is between 1100 and 1400 and the handles are 900. He is a well known glass artist.
Holly Nov 14th 2007 10:17AM
Cool! Now glass blowers can make something more then bongs! I think this would appeal to rich stoners.
Ray Nov 14th 2007 10:19AM
Since it is so much higher then the basin I'm just seeing a problem here with the water splashing all over as you wash your hands?
tnipnad Nov 14th 2007 10:29AM
What's next...clear glass toilets? I don't even want to go there!
Scoutmom Nov 14th 2007 10:34AM
When I bend down to rinse my face, I'd bang my head! Then when I break it off, the water would be squirting up to the ceiling.
Beautiful, but not at all practical. But at $2200, not in my price range either, so I guess I'll just use the faucet I've got.

Very Classy but it should be for $2,200
Only for the rich and Famous i see.
and does it break easy?
Sure looks like it does.
Celebs will be getting these or already have them i bet.
Now do something for the Not So Rich,,,, LOL
brdbrns3 Nov 14th 2007 11:13AM
no way. that is some kind of rich man's sink bong or something.
Marie Nov 14th 2007 12:04PM
'Lovely to look at, delightful to hold, but if it is broken, consider it sold' comes to mind. But I would change it to read, 'but if it is broken, I'd cry like a baby!' Beautiful but oh so extravagant. Definitely wouldn't work in my household.

To Ivy and Holly-
You both literally made me laugh out loud. I needed that.
Virginia Nov 14th 2007 11:59AM
IT LOOKS LIKE THE WATER WILL SPLASH ALL OVER THE PLACE I MEAN THE SPOUT IS UP TO HIGH!!
Pat Nov 14th 2007 12:03PM
I love it! Love it! Love it! I'm going to ask Santa to bring me three of them for Christmas. Of course he'll have to win the lottery first, so I won't hold my breath.
RagingBee Nov 14th 2007 12:06PM
I`ll take it in a pale blue. Tempered glass maybe so it doesnt shatter or break so easily as one might think? They do it with auto glass and at $2200 i should expect that. If thats the case, I take one!

That is very beautiful, but it seems like it would break fairly easy..?
