A piece in
Jolene Thym's Picky Eater column has me intrigued. One of the things I miss most about living in Northern California is the unique offerings from small wineries and distillers. Thym recently received a sample of
Crispin's Rose Liqueur, created by Crispin Cain of Greenway Distillers. The distillier ferments apple juice and honey and then distills it to create an eau de vie which they then infuse with roses. Thym describes the taste as " like being in a small room stuffed with roses." Oh my! The unique beverage is only available at one place online and
sells for $85 for a 375-ml bottle. This just made my Christmas list. It would likely be a great bottle to bring for dessert, perhaps paired with baklava or something else light and yet decadent.
