Creflo Dollar Defends His Rolls-Royce Again
Popular televangelist Creflo Dollar is being called on the carpet again for his "prosperity gospel" which teaches that God brings riches to the faithful. Iowa Sen. Charles Grassley, the top Republican on the Senate Finance Committee, is asking whether or not churches such as the one run by Creflo Dollar and his wife Taffi really are non-profits. Dollar is just one of the televangelists asked to provide financial information to the committee. In an interview with CBS News, Dollar addressed the widely reported claim that he has two Rolls-Royces. Dollar says he only has one Rolls-Royce and that one was purchased by donors or members of the church and that it was a surprise to him. This is not the first time Dollar has had to address the Rolls issue, nor is it the first time he has used this answer. In fact, a quick search brings up a Businessweek interview in 2005 where Dollar said the church congregation gave him the Rolls-Royce saying that they wanted him to drive the best and that he felt to turn it down would be a "a dishonor to the people that gave it to me."

Yeah, dude's a jackass. For some reason I've got issues with religious types going all out with the luxury goods (I was raised Catholic, so maybe that "distrustful of religions asking for your money when they have buckets of it already) thing comes from that). Even Creflo's story is true, wouldn't he want to drive something less expensive and put that money back into his parish somehow?
deb Nov 9th 2007 4:31PM
both you bloggers must be broke-if anyone knows anything about abundance-then you should know there is enough for everyone- but when you are looking thru eyes of lack and think thru lack then you only see and feel lack-Creflo looks with eyes of abundance- maybe you should try it- it really does work and this is what all religions teach.

I am a christian. I believe that as the bible says that i shall know the goodness of the lord while I am here in the land of the living. I believe that while there is nothing wrong with financial prosperity and the attainment of material wealth, an accountability must be given. None of the pastors who were asked to give an accout of how donated dollars are being used are above god or the law. Let's face it, billions are dollars are being donated and entrusted to these pastors, I tithe regularly myself and while i give freely unto the Lord, I exspect my donations and gifts to be used to appropriately. These ministers should welcome scrutiny not hide behind the first admendment. If it is true that 23,000.00 dollars was used to buy a toilet, that homes were purchased under the cloak of a nonprofit organization and then used for personal gain, then an account needs to be given to me, the church and the senate finance committee that governs the tax laws under which this money is exempted. Please understand, I believe that pastor Dollar, E.Long and the others should live blessed and abundant lives, and they should be compensated for their work in the ministry. However these people are not god, they are men and women, are prone to the same temptations as you and I. Independent oversight of the finances of a ministry is essential. It is God with whom are trust should be, not man. Man is prone to human error and greed. So while my prayers go out to these pastors, I welcome the senate inquiry. as the bible says "if god is for you, who can be against you".
If the record keeping is right, they have nothing to be concerned about. Lets shake the tree, and see what falls out. I applaud the senators inquiry and hope that it brings about change inwhich the christian church handles the billions of dollars it receives from hardworking, bible believing christians such as myself. As the bible says only a fool, does not welcome corrections.

when the people of the world that are not saved live expensive life styles, they drive expensive cars, they own jets, and anything else they want to, no one complains about them, but when a child of the King lives the same way there is a problem. the problem with the world is that they think that christians arent suppose to live better than them, but as long as we serve the lord, we as christians have a right to live the way that God intended for us to. the only reason that the senate is looking into these ministers is because of their lifestyle of prosperity. the church that these people pastor, if the members don;t have a problem why should they be investigated. these people are doing all they can to help people to become independent of goventment assistance and to help them raise their standard of living, what is wrong with that. the govenment dont have our best interest at heart, so why is that a problem for the unsaved world?

create a flow dollar , I mean cmon am i the only person in a america who sniffs this one out. I am a christian but i dont get guys like this who are only interested in their own wealth. I wonder if his parents were really named dollar?
CHICKY Nov 12th 2007 5:37PM
If there is one member of your congregation without food ,lights , or a warm place to sleep at night there IS something wrong with you driving around in a rolls royce or a private jet and any other luxury. And please sustain from telling me that these members must be doing something wrong and not praying enough. We all will be judged. No where I know in the bible it says everyone, except the pastor.

JESUS IS THE CORNER STONE
Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded
Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme; Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well. For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men: 1 Peter 2:1-6-13-15

Here's something for those who think they know and understand the Word of God:
Mal 3:12
Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
Deu 28:12-13
"The LORD will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow.
"And the LORD will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you today, and are careful to observe them.
1 Cor 9:13-14
Do ye not know that they which minister about holy things live of the things of the temple? and they which wait at the altar are partakers with the altar?
Even so hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel.
These 3 verses of scripture explain what the World questions, if you are a unbeliever (not a bible believing Christian), what is in the Bible, what it says, or what it means, will make absolutely NO sense to you what so ever !!
Proverbs 12:15
The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.
Proverbs 14:24
The crown of the wise is their riches: but the foolishness of fools is folly.
Proverbs 15:2
The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness.
Proverbs 15:7
The lips of the wise disperse knowledge: but the heart of the foolish doeth not so.
It is irresponsible to form or stand on an opinion of something that you dont have knowledge of or about !!!

How about that car is to outrageously expensive and that no man should ever use any "charitable" program (i.e. church or awareness program) for their own materialistic ideals. And I highly doubt anyone in this day and age would spend their hard earned money on someone else to drive an overweight, over priced tank. Maybe a Lotus, lol.
AZDallas Nov 18th 2007 3:41PM
People don't understand the tithing and offering is biblical. All of this talk about someone having something someone else doesn't have. Please lets stop being so narrow-minded.
Of course Jesus didn't have a Rolls-Royce or a million-dollar house. He didn't have a Ford Focus or a Chevy Tahoe either. Nor did he have a 3 bedroom house with flat-screen televisions and a dishwasher.
We all have more than Jesus. So before you cast your stone against prosperity (Making progress), make sure it boomerangs and hits you first.
Isn't it funny how the government takes our money before we even see it and wastes it, but we give our money to ministry and they complain.
SImply equation. Big ministry = more money = bigger salary, great compensation package.
Why is it that Christians are to be broke while Tom Cruise and Hollywood can buy $1.3 million Bugatti Veyron and multiple million-dollar houses?
rob Nov 15th 2007 2:14PM
It's a shame that people think that this man has a jet to fly to vacations.... The Jet is because his flight schedule is so off, the airlines cannot accomidate for it. not too mention, It's far less costly then buying tickets all year long. PEOPLE GET REAL!!! Before he was a pastor he was a Therapist... making $150 and hour, listening to people like yourselves talk about the problems you already know you have!! LOL! now he's trying to Save lives all over the World and buying cars for people in the ministry, buying homes as well! And people still attack him for no reason!!

They say it is an act of ignorance that makes the rat to attack the cat, while we they not call for prob, it is a shame of the senate and the senator, American a country noted for the sponsorship of the gospel today has degenerated to this level, a country formed and govern by the laws from the Bible has today become persecutors of Gods ministers, why not Sen. Charles Grassley, look into the distruction and wastage going on in Iraq the confussion and pains they give to families that lose their loved one's in Iraq, than to pimp into the affairs of the church, this are men raised up by God and not man, I will advise this men of God to know that they are not men of the people but of God, they need not listen to peoples opinion as the government would do but the God that a called them, for if what they are doing is not of God they will surely fail and and be frustrated. God will somehow humilate them, the money they talk about is not government's money but the people who contributed it also pay their taxes, or do they want them to pay in two ways? Let the government/Sen. Charles Grassley prove their free from curruption.

Where was the world when Dr Creflo Dollar suffered in poverty, where was the government and its agencies? Its only God that has brought him this far,Dr Creflo has been faithful to his call and God has blessed him in abundance .The Bible itself says that seek ye first the kingdom of God and all these things will be added unto you. Must he live a miserable life to prove that he serves God or cares for the needy?
It is wrong for poeple that are motivated by sheer jeolosuy and wrong motives to lecture the world on how a christain ought to live.
Do you know that there are millions going to bed without food then why do you keep on throwing food in the trach can? Dr Creflo and World Changers have indeed responded to that call while many continue ignoring Gods call and the plight of mankind.
thanks alot World Changers for reaching our wolrd with the transforming gospel of Jesus Christ.

Anyone can see that this guy is a mass manipulator and a big 'ole con artist. He was totally bashed on Larry King last week. Love the private chef, marble floors, many Mercedes, mansion and Prada clad, dripping in diamonds trashy wife, Taffi. Yes, her name is "Taffi". These people are garbage.
And, Odaki david (in post above) GOD hasn't brough Creflo Dollar this far. Greed and deceit has. After all, his last name is "DOLLAR".

To quote AZ Dallas from above:
"Why is it that Christians are to be broke while Tom Cruise and Hollywood can buy $1.3 million Bugatti Veyron and multiple million-dollar houses?"
Why? Because celebrites aren't claiming to be non-profit or claiming to be helping needy people with funds gathered in collection plates or through donations. Creflo is such an actor with his preaching schtick that he should just go to Hollywood and make legit money, as opposed to hiding behind the church to get his money to "live large". Honestly AZ Dallas, how many people could be given health insurance with $34,000,000 Creflo paid for his home?
A.Z., you'd deluded and have been duped by someone who is taking a bath in your money right now, and has no interest in helping anyone other than himself.
