Think about it....who really has a second kitchen? A full second kitchen? They're rare indeed, but the new trend in luxury housing is to start changing that.
People with money to spend want kitchens for both themselves and for their personal chefs and caterers, and they don't want to be bumping around together in the same space. But it's not just about whether or not you can afford it, as the building has to be approved and depending on the rules and regulations in the area an additional full kitchen may or may not be allowed. But in the areas where it does work houses generally run in the $5 million range and higher when they include 2 kitchens.

It's not that unusual to see two full kitchens or a kitchen and a half in a lake home, especially when the lower level has direct lake access. Eliminates to need to run upstairs from the boat to grab a couple of beers, cocktails or whip up some quick appetizers.
By the way, must EVERY kitchen remodel use the Kohler Vinnata faucet??? We installed ours two years ago when we remodeled our kitchen and now every time I see a kitchen update or new construction on HGTV, oops, there it is....including the photo in this piece.

A lot of older homes in my area have 2 kitchens often for renting out separately with a bedroom & a separate entrance & are then just blocked off from the rest of the house because the demand for housing is up and homes are expensive here on the Central Coast of California. Multiple story homes also have 2 kitchens in Northern California in older homes. Not just for rich people & newer homes...
