Mariah Carey loves butterflies. From album covers to temporary tattoos, the singer likes to surround herself with the delicate insect's image. Even her
new perfume, M, features a butterfly stopper on the bottle. But it is Lalique's so-called Butterfly scent that has
attracted her like a butterfly to a flower. She recently shelled out $13,200 for a case of the exclusive, limited edition perfume simply because she loved the bottle design - an etched crystal bottle adorned with a beautiful butterfly stopper. It may not just be the pretty bottle that led her to purchase the pricey perfume - a source told In Touch Weekly that she thinks the scent will make her actually smell like a butterfly. Do butterflies even
have a scent?

"For the haters: An urban philospher once said succintly: "Don't hate the player, Hate the game."

ICE-T said that in the song "Don't Hate The Playa", not some random "urban philosopher". By urban philosopher, do you really mean rapper or random black guy? We all know what the term "Urban" really means.

Mariah Carey sucks, she has no talent, her voice is terrible, the music she does sucks, she is her own biggest fan. Just a self absorbed ho-bag. If God blesses you, you have a resposiblity to be wise with that blessing.

Look, the majority of Americans do not have the means or can't justify spending 13K on an antique perfume bottle(even for investment puropses). Personally, I'd pay bills and still have some left over to put into a CD or a Money Market account of some kind. MC is a wealthy, VERY wealthy woman. She is no different than any other very wealthy person who has spent an enormous amount of cash on something a lot of people feel is not an absolute essential of survival. As for the snide remarks about her "lack of talent", she's won industry awards for her songwriting ability, and writes a majority(if not all) of the songs on her albums. As for Becky(post #8); you couldn't be any farther from the truth about her never doing anything for anyone but herself. A quick AOL lookup with the words "Mariah Carey's charity work" yielded over 30,000 hits on articles on what she's done since becoming a world famous singing star. She's received a Congressional award for her charity works, has donated and raised millions of dollars for AIDS awareness and research, and anyone who lives in the Metropolitan New York area knows of her work with the Fresh Air Fund and the creation of a camp in upstate NY that bears her name. She's personally there sometimes to hang out with the kids. She's done a hell of a lot of charity work, so put down that hatetini and deal. If she has the means to do whatever she wants with HER cash, she's earned the right to do so. I can't claim to be her #1 superfan, but I admire her for being a woman of color who didn't allow her childhood adversities keep her from fulfilling her dreams, and I don't like seeing someone get unfairly trashed. She may spray her skin with gold, but a lot of that "gold" is the contribution of her Afro-Venezuelan father.

...I thought the sentence was going to end with for Coco Puffs. The woman can sing but it's alleged that she may be a little mentally unstable, suffering from Peter Pan syndrome. Allegedly her live in ex, Mexican singer Luis Miguel took Richard Gere to a hospital in L.A. for gerbil extraction in the late 1990s. Supposedly, she had a nervous breakdown after hearing that her boyfriend played for both teams. For those of you who don't know what gerbil extraction is, straight people don't play with gerbils where the sun doesn't shine. That is strictly and exit and not an entrance. Mariah needs to grow up and have kids as her biological clock is running out of time.

Mariah looks like she should live in a trailer park

My only comments are: Yes she made the money, yes she can buy what she wants. Yes she should get outside of herself and help less fortunate people, especially now. but she is not alone. All of these fortunate bastards and bastardettes, who were made disgustingly wealthy by an industry only interested in monetary returns, should be more generous with their damn dollars. They are NOT all that and a slice of bread. To watch people kiss celeb's asses is certainly only one of many things wrong with this society in general. I know what I do, my conscience is clear. My side of the street is clean.

'The dumbing-down of America' Don't you think it's a shame that we're reduced to reading this crap?
Leona Lewis Jan 7th 2008 5:28AM
Move over Mariah and make way for Leona. Leona Lewis is being hailed as the next Mariah Carey. Like Mariah, Leona has a powerful voice and powerful beauty, both inside and out. Leona's debut single is set for US release in mid-January and her debut album is set for US release in mid-March. In addition to her natural gifts, Leona is backed by Simon Cowell and Clive Davis, the record producer behind Whitney Houstan's career.
With so much going for her, Leona Lewis is expected to take the US by storm.

How many of you guys have donated to a REAL charity?
Besides thirft stores.
It's Mariah's money. Not yours. She doesn't HAVE to give and blow her money on something she doesn't want to.
