Fred Goldman may never get much of the $33.5 million owed to him by O.J. Simpson but at least he will get a new watch. A judge has ruled that Fred Goldman is
entitled to Simpson's Rolex Submariner watch. Goldman, who now also owns the rights to Simpson's book, has requested the items seized in Las Vegas during Simpson's recent arrest. The watch is valued at around $5,000 but I'm guessing it would bring a lot more if Goldman decided to auction it off on eBay. Attorneys for Goldman can go to Las Vegas, take possession of the watch and have it appraised and the judge will review findings on October 16.

Err... did someone get the figure wrong??
A gold submariner is definitely worth more than 5 grand.
and looking at the photo, it looks likethe all gold version which would easily cross the $10'000 threshold if new.
Where are your factcheckers???
Kerozene Sep 19th 2007 4:40PM
Drats, I was going to say that Viv! :P
Someone tell Goldman to toss that puppy up on ebay. Halloween is comming and I know my BF would get a kick out of doing an authentic OJ costume + real watch. :D

It could be worth even more if there's some type of personalized inscription on the back, like "To OJ -Love, NBS".
Viv Sep 21st 2007 10:28AM
Kerozene..
hee hee, but even I got the figure wrong, a new one costs about 21grand!
The man should definitely get a pretty penny for it, perhaps at an auction rather than just ebay!

Uh, Hayley? There was a matter of a civil trial in which OJ WAS found guilty and was assessed damages. Fred's simply trying to get what he's legally entitled to. I guess you conveniently forgot that little issue.
Hayley Moore Sep 22nd 2007 2:40PM
Craig,
The civil trial was a joke... It also said "liable" instead of "guilty" for obvious reasons.
Either we trust our system or not.
You cannot deny that this F. G. is displaying characteristics that do not suit a man w/ dignity; At least he should behave like the Brown family who wanted to make a point in the civil trial.
1st he refused to publish the book, because he claimed it was not respectful to his son's memory. Then - NOOM! -> he changes his mind, and HE himself publishes the book...for MONEY. Such inconsistency points out 1 thing: the money is his prime motivator.

That greedy Fred Godman makes me want to puke... He is the reason people dislike Jews. OJ Simpson is NOT guilty; I don't care that people who consider themselves "smart" say, "of course he sis it...", just like those "clever" people never watch soap operas... yea'right.
Lots of hypocricy in this world. I believe in the Judicial system in the US, and OJ has NOT been found guilty; he & his kids suffered enough... Fred Goldman should be arrested for harassment against OJ... I am disgusted w/ him and people like him.

I, for one, wouldn't want to own that watch even if I could have it for a buck three eighty. No thanks. I think the Goldman family deserves what the courts deem they are entitled to, and I believe OJ is as guilty as sin, and I find it difficult to believe that the Goldman family has been unable to collect on their judgment. We see OJ's ugly ass all over the place, and he's got money to stay in all these nice cities, living the life, but the Goldmans still haven't received their judgment. Those who disagree with the wrongful death judgment must believe OJ to be innocent. As for OJ's kids, he should've thought about them before he plunged a knife into their mother. He deserves everything he gets. So maybe my opinion may not be extremely popular, but it's realistic as a person who has faith in the court system. Until someone comes up with something better, it's all we've got.

What about the jerks bail money, why doesn't Goldman get that too!

So many people are very passionate about whether OJ is guilty or not. So I have to begin by letting you know I really don’t care. Let’s take the celebrity factor out of OJ being a washed up football player and his wife being an alleged stereotypical Hollywood drug addict bitch. Let’s also take the Goldman kid out for being a horny opportunist who saw his chance to screw a buxom sex queen and get some of her ex’s cash. Of course, I don’t know any of that to be fact, just media reports, you know, just conjecture and editorial opinion.
So Nicole gets offed and the loser Goldman kid happens to be in the way. Who did it? Maybe the Goldman kid did just before a mugger showed up and killed him too. All of a sudden there are a million people who feel it is ok to come out of their KKK closets and proclaim “of course” OJ did it. Guess what to you, the ever-greedy Goldmans, and everyone else … who cares? We all agreed when America was founded that we would be governed by a certain set of laws, one of which is that if a court and a jury of one’s peers finds someone innocent of a crime, they are in fact innocent. What part of that don’t you get Goldmans? Are you possibly the biggest sore losers in the history of the world? A judge and jury said the dude is innocent, regardless of what YOU think or believe. Deal with it!
So OJ tries to move on but the blood sucking Goldmans can’t. Kind of conveniently forgetting that it was Niccole who was killed and her family was hurt a lot, they make it all about a kid that they hardly knew and who hardly knew them. All of a sudden, he is their golden egg to be the richest family on Earth if they can just suck OJ dry, and oh do they do that!
OJ stupidly contracts some inept ghost write to pen some tale called “If I did it”. Ok OJ, are you a complete idiot? Whatever, certainly no human with more than one working brain cell would consider this fiction piece anything more than silly BS. But instead of letting it go, the Goldmans sense moola and steal the book from OJ (and ace the Brown family out in one slick move). They do what they are so good at doing, and change the title to a fabricated-beyond-belief lie of “I did it” and are raking in bazillions of dollars while their son lies rotting in his grave. Feel good about that Fred? Oh that’s right, Fred has no feelings. Where is that money going Fred? Is it helping Ron? Do you suddenly love him like a son now? Yeah right!
So there will be some who read the book (very pathetic that anyone would pay money for such trash) and reading this think I am an OJ fanboy. Wrong. Look, OJ was just in the news again for something really much more important that some unsolved murders that happened many years ago. This time he is being a moron beyond belief and will probably be lynched by the white-sheet set. He most likely deserves it too. I just can’t wait for Fred Goldman to conjure some amazing scheme to profit from it and collect a bazillion dollars more.
So, by the way, I wrote this before today’s news that Fred actually did find a way to suck more out of it by taking OJ’s watch. How pathetic is that?

Blood suckers. O.J. Simpson is a free man because he hired the right accused you of killing someone you love or loved, and you beat the bad rap blegal defense team to dispute speculation and theories. How would you feel if peopleut still ended up being liable in a civil court of law and forced to give away almost everything that meant something to you except your pension and kids? No eyewitnesses, or murder weapon leading back to the suspected killer. The civil judge, jury, prosecutor,da's and jurors should all feel guilt for their biased one sided oppinions. AMERICA white, black, yellow or whatever color, oppinions are not facts. Your convictions will haunt you.

I apologize for the double post ... unintended.

I think Fred Goldman is begining to be an ass and causing people to resent him for what he is doing. Any money he receives will only be blood money and therefore I beleive he should turn over all moneies received from O.J to a shelter for battered wives or some type of shelter protecting victems from domestic violence. He is making his family look foolish now with his petty bitching. He is not the only Father to lose a loved one. Fred Goldman needs to get a life!!!!!
Hunter Oct 5th 2007 8:10PM
OJ's Rolex is a fake. Talk about poetic justice :-)
pampermimi Oct 8th 2007 7:58PM
Fred Goldman needs to get a life!!!!! Understatement... sometime it's best to let sleepy dogs lie. He has no intention on doing anything good with that money and that's way it will never come to him. I would never pay one red cent for that garbage they call a book.
It's free on the internet floating.
