Opus Montreal Hotel

We've been seeing a lot of flashy boutique hotels opening this fall. This one is the latest from the Opus Hotel Group, the Opus Montreal. The hotel inhabits a building built in 1914 by Joseph-Arthur Godin which was created in an Art Nouveau style (the building was formerly the Hotel Godin) and has been expanded with a modern concrete addition, created by architect Dan Hanganu of Montreal and interior designer Yabu Pushelberg of New York. There are 136 rooms with a modern look. The hotel lounge which is set to open at the end of hts month includes light-strip paneling, steel sculptures by artist Scott Eunson, a 30 foot Cardosa marble bar and a heated outdoor terrace. A restaurant will open in the spring. Guest services include a concierge, personal fitness trainer, valet parking, same day laundry and dry cleaning, and in-suite massage therapy and spa treatments. As our friends at Hotel Chatter noted, the hotel is currently offering 10% off rooms and free parking, they found a standard room for $224.
