Great Hill Farm, Estate of the Day

This traditional farm in Tamworth, New Hampshire might be the last place you might expect to find a bowling alley but it has one and it's decorated with animal heads too. Great Hill Farm is a private estate on nearly 72 acres which include hayfields and pastures, woodlands, expansive lawns and even a private pond with a sandy beach. The land includes an original two-story home which was constructed in 1785 and added to over the years for a total of seven bedrooms and 5,453 square feet of space. There is also a circa 1910 recreation/hunting lodge with a huge fieldstone fireplace, game room, loft and the bowling alley. There is also a separate garage with a tractor shed and shop complex, a guesthouse with two bedrooms and a four-stall barn with four vehicle bays and hay loft and a circa 1880 hay barn with equipment area. This home is listed at $2.25 million.

I don't know if it was done on purpose but the pictures all look like they come from one of those 50's style calendars with technicolor hypersaturated images.
Lovely place overall.

I love this place and the price is low.
Always wary of older houses like this that don't show the kitchens or mention recent renovations so I suspect you would want to upgrade after purchase, maybe plumbing heating and electrical. Plus I would paint the main house another color, white perhaps, anything but that red. Not sure what I would do with the bowling alley.
The one photo of the stone wall with autumn trees and the dirt road brings tears to my eyes.

I grew up in this house, and I am sad to see it go. Let me know if you have any questions. I can say that it has been meticulously maintained and does not require significant investment (the kitchen could use new appliances).
