An exclusive Louis Vuitton Tribute Patchwork handbag, one of only 24 in the world and
5 in North America (we know
Beyonce has one),
is on its way to Washington by the end of the season for a very special, unnamed, client. We here at
Luxist first covered the Tribute Patchwork
back in March, and since then it's been making quite the name for itself. As one of
the most expensive handbags in the world, the Tribute Patchwork has become this summer's ultimate status bag. Priced at $52,500 and made from best parts of 14 other LV bags, it easily overshadows the competition in originality, style, and class.

I love it. And I don't feel jealous or bitter against those who can afford it as a casual purchase. More power to her.

For this I can believe Beyonce spending this much my boyfriend worked for her family and the way they were made me sick I would never spend one red cent on any of her cd's she grew up in a bad part of Houston to bad she doesn't remember where she came from all the people starving and this is what she waste her money on the other girls from Destiny Child were more down to earth she should have taken lessons from them

I bet you could feed a village in Africa for a year for the price of that purse.
Carlos Aug 24th 2007 10:06AM
well if you ask me i will tell you that if i had 52,0000.00 to play with i would not purchase a handbag just to get publicity and status...I would send it to the victims of hurracaine katrina who are in need of all the help and the publicity and status will be well spent..

I imagine those that can't pay for their daily medicine along with those that starve to death on a daily basis appreciate the significance of this bag. Beyonce is just another insignificant clown that has too much money...I'm sure she, like others that squander their assets on trivial things, sleeps well at night.

well 52,000.00 dollars for a handbag that will make u gag is not so bad...congratulations beyonce...

We have to remember one thing. There are plenty of things that people do with there money. If we had as much money as these people, we wouldn't be saying the things that we do on here. We all say one thing and do something else when it happens. Look at most people that win the lottery. They go BK...why...because they go crazy. Leave people alone. The problem with our society is that we have to constantly judge everyone all the time. This is where half of the troubles come from. We have to label, we have to judge, we have to bash someone. Life is too short to worry about someone elses wealth.

what a bunch of fools... proving once again there is an ass for every seat.

I agree with sharon. It is Obscene that someone would spend a years salary for some people on a handbag. An Ugly one at that.

"Priced at $52,500 and made from best parts of 14 other LV bags, it easily overshadows the competition in originality, style, and class." It is official, the Emperor has no clothes. If this constitutes originality, style and class, then I, who have the design ability of a door knob, should become the worlds next fashion star, seeing that it looks like an attempt that my dead cat made. I agree there are many ways to use the 52K price to help others. I don't beleive I have the right to "spend" other people's money just because I don't agree with their purchases, but starving and homeless children come to mind; along with the ability to finance a program that really works in solving the problem. If just the money for the 5 of these monstrosities in the US was pooled, what could we accomplish?
Pam Aug 24th 2007 10:17AM
WHY? WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY. I GUESS YOU HAVE TO BE RICH AND STUPID TO SPEND THAT KIND OF MONEY ON SOMETHING SO UNPRODUCTIVE AND UNATTRACTIVE.
Annette Aug 24th 2007 10:22AM
Not only is the new Patchwork LV handbag ugly as sin...but LV has the nerve to price it in the obscene category...LV bless your heart! Not even the Canal Street knock offs would attract me.
A southern gal
David Aug 24th 2007 2:09PM
Did anyone mentioning counterfeit canal street bags think of who benefits from the sale of these??? I love Louis Vuitton and have been a supporter of authentic merchandise for years...It is not for everyones budget and frankly it is not a Walmart item. The bag shown here definitely needs to be a museum, what museum I'm not sure, but not for me... The terrorists that benefit from your need to think you're someone is disgusting. Then you get those whining about charity? Who says that those of us who spend what you consider too much for a bag don't do anything charitable? Do you think buying a bag that helps to attack our military is a good idea? That is what you are doing when you buy that cheap crap from street vendors!!! So thank your self next time you see a news clip of our lost soldiers. I do personally have active family in the US Military! I could not imagine personally contributing to my brothers troubles! And no, I would not spend $52,000 on a bag!
Heidi Aug 24th 2007 10:25AM
Though I do think that a bag for $52,000 is insane, I do think that we should let the celebrities have their fun. There were a couple of comments that say that Beyonce should consider the amount and give it away in donations. For all you know she already does give much more away in charity than $52,000. That's just a drop in the bucket to her. Goodness, there are even some celebrities that spend more than that just for an overnight stay in some penthouse, that they don't even get to keep. At least this bag is hers!!
Vicky Aug 24th 2007 10:24AM
I actually LIKE the bag . Its original . I doubt if the true beauty of it can be depicted in the picture . I do think its a travesty that someone would spend that much on a purse . Of course no one condemns the people that spend that much on a car that is only going to depreciate .
