It has been on the market for years. <br><br>Seriously, years (just shy of 4 yrs!) and hasn't had any takers. It was originally listed in the low teens and the price has reacted to the lack of demand. You'd think it was sitting on nuclear waste with the lack of demand while tons of homes of vastly less history, character and land have sold for much more in McLean, VA. But where did the statement that this is the largest remaining private estate on the Potomac come from? There are many much larger private estates off of the Potomac, some actually owned by descendants of the Washington family.
