The Most Expensive Birthday Card

70 year old Joan Hardee got quite the birthday greeting in the mail when she received a painting from artist Damien Hirst. Joan had been Hirst's college secretary, so when her son was planning a surprise birthday party he asked Hirst if he wouldn't make a special card for her. Hirst, though, took it a step farther and sent her an entire painting instead with the words "Happy Birthday Joan" written on it. At the time the painting had an estimated value of £30,000.

Joan Hardee had attempted to sell the painting back in 2001 (rumors are she couldn't afford to insure it) but was unsuccessful, so assuming she still has it how much to do suppose it's worth now?

What price on Art, for today, or a piece of History? Is it best determined by the atmosphere during the find, the day, the collection or the memories that the Art evokes each time you pass it in your home? I have found one of the best places to answer all of your questions provide you with comfort and a promise of an Art find from a master all with a weekend you won't forget and all with better bargains than you would ever hope. Hang the real thing in your home not a CHINA look a like for nearly the same price and keep your money in the United States !Look for my favorite, The Colonial Art Gallery, in Oklahoma either their shop or their Auctions in Oklahoma seem to have something for everyone. This has been my favorite spot to find a Remington for my Collection and they really come thru...T. Canaday
