Georgetown Modern, Estate of the Day

Our modern Monday pick takes us to Washington D.C. and a rather non-traditional Georgetown townhouse. This throughly modern home is a four-story Le Corbusier-inspired work of utterly angular lines. The seven-bedroom home has multiple terraces and a wide open floor plan. The home is utterly spare and bare, all dark wood and white walls and bathrooms that trip the line between stark and institutional. It is listed at $3.45 million. After the jump, not a curve in sight.

That looks great for children. If you like children with lots of injuries...
They should just further decorate by sprinkling shards of glass around, to go with all those hard metal corners.

Love modern, but this one is too sterile. At least some curvy furniture has been added. First order of business, get rid of the black "From my frat days" couch, and add some color.

Heck I'd do it.
Place looks pretty perfect to me. No extra "stuff" or whatsoever

If they knew how to decorate, this place would be awesome.

I'd bet they have a closet/attic that is REALLY messy. Otherwise I'm sold as is (minus the lazyboy couch obviously)

Well I guess if you can't say anything nice you shouldn't say anything at all.
I guess that's all I have to say.

What a waist of time and money! I guess they don't watch HGTV!

This house(houses)is (are)not in Georgetown. They are wildly out of the context of the neighborhood they are in and would be even more so in Georgetown. They also MIGHT(?) be worth what the asking price is if they were in Georgetown but considering where they are they are worth about 1.5M less. Think Park Avenue versus Canarsie.

I love the place! Great for an empty nester(like me)! Add some personal stuff(softeners) and wow, this place could be awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!
