The Top 10 Best First Class Airlines

Flying first class used to just mean more leg room and a better meal, but anymore some airlines are really going over the top. And the word is some airlines because not all of them even offer first class anymore, having done away with it to focus instead on business class. About 35 airlines offer first class right now, and the competition is getting steeper and steeper as they all compete to get that "wow factor" from customers. They're providing everything from fully flat beds, 3:1 passenger to crew ratios, exotic high end linens, pillows, toiletries, and even 7 course gourmet meals with caviar and Dom Perignon champagne. All that's missing is a jacuzzi!
Recently Skytrax came up with their annual list of the top 10 first class airline experiences, and here's who made their cut as the best of the best:

I've flown almost all of those airlines first class and there's no way that Thai or Korean Air belong on that list. Thai's seats are very disappointing and the food is mediocre. Korean Air has the new Boeing configuration for 1st class and the seat is comfortable. However, there are no real first class amenities.
I'd say that Virgin Atlantic, Swiss Air, and British Air are missing from the top 10 list.

MetroDad: For one, Virgin Atlantic doesn't have a first class per se. Their Upper Class is just Business Class.
Swiss Air definitely has amazing service in First Class but if I'm not mistaken they have pretty much removed First Class from all of their flights (or atleast the Mumbai-Zurich sector).
The last part : BA. It is absolutely the most horrid and overrated carrier ever. Their First Class service is terrible including having absolutely rude ground and air staff most of the time. This is not just a one time thing but continuous and the only reason I travel BA is because of their convenient timings and great connection at Heathrow.

I haven't been on all of them, but agree that Lufthansa is a great airline. I prefer to fly with them when flying overseas, I am actually looking into flights for an upcoming trip with them and want to book the flights today before the sale ends!

air new zealand have an excellent first and business class, with what i thought anyway, was good food for an airline, and both large screens for entertainment, and fully folding chairs/beds.

Uh, Emirates Airlines probably has the best first class known to man...

Jet Airways with its very small international network is simply no "world" airline and does not yet belong to this list of best first class airlines with consistent service and reputation.
