Fendi Hologram B.Mix Bag, Handbag of the Day
It is hard to describe this bag without making it sound like a mess: pink and blue beads criss-crossing strips of Fendi logo fabric, brown leather trim, silver-tone hardware and generous amounts of contrasting top-stitching all set against a transparent patterned vinyl. Regardless of how it sounds, I think the overall look is surprisingly pretty. It is from Fendi's 2007/08 Autumn Winter collection and I suspect there will be no middle ground on this one - you will either love it or hate it. Personally, I love it. $1634.78.

Now, my question, why would someone spend that kind of money on a purse, yes a PURSE. Not a closet full, ONE? Purses wear out. Best to buy yourself something that will last the season, hey get matching shoes, go wild! Donate the rest to the orphanage, or the shelter for battered women. Do you know HOW FAR your dollars go in buying SHOES for children who have no one? I wonder how many children have no shoes, or a coat for school this year? let alone, clothes and school supplies? So many of our kids are already dependent on the schools for breakfast and lunch in the free programs. Time to give the families tools to climb out of the hole, it's not easy, been there done that a few times. I support a disabled husband and son, raised two other sons as well with cronic health issues. I could go into the challenges but won't. wake up america, the only one making items like this "worth" the price is the people who are stupid enough to pay it. Don't buy it, and you might see a more reasonable world emerge. one where people actually CARE about someone besides themselves

If you have the money for this I think its great.I understand the whole homeless people and children needing things, but not everything is about them either. If someone works hard and saves the money up for this item more power to them they earned it. The way I see it I'm a grown woman I work contribute to my home take very good care of my child I do not ask the state or anyone to help me If I want a purse then it's my business. When and if someone else begins paying my mortgage, car , food, electric, credit card and contributions to Ronald McDonald house, bills then they can tell me what, how and who to spend my money on...

The idea of spending $1600 is revolting. Where are our values? Wait for the Target knock-off for $29.99 and donate the rest to feeding the starving and dying in Africa, Hurricane Katrina victims who are still struggling or the sick 9/11 first responders who have been abandoned by our government.

Fendi always has beautiful and interesting handbags. I think with the price so high I would just like to look at it in person - maybe cool if they did an auction for charity with it or showcase it somehow for a benefit show.

That is one HIDEOUS bag. Can you say gaudy, tasteless? In any case, I realize "to each it's own". But even if I found this to be a stunning bag there is no way I would consider spening that kind of money on it. My value system wouldn't allow it. Aside from the obvious, feeding the poor, etc. I would do as #6 suggested, take a trip...make a memory.

I agree with Andrea. I've given to more charaties than I can count and if I want a designer bag thats my business. Its relative. For me to purchase a designer bag is no different than someone else purchasing a second TV or a playstation. Not like they need that either. For those of you that have never owned a designer bag, they dont wear out or go out of style. Like a Rolex. Sometimes less is more.

That bag is hilarious. It looks like something you'd find in Spencer's - a store that carried really cheap novelty items like lava lamps. Now, I've seen bags that looked like they might be worth paying a lot for, and this isn't one.

I agree with the writer; as far as holograms go that is as attractive as you can get. But natural materials will always be better.

well if i want one i will get one its not that bad of a bag it makes me think of young and fun im not old eather im 25 and good for you giving money to the homeless but we should teach them to fish that way we all can have a bag or to they eont help themselves if we keep bailing them out!

Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah! Please don't make those people feel bad for buying an expensive purse, like one of the writers said it's all relative and to each his own. I personally, give to many, MANY charities and I always enjoy picking up a few luxury items while I'm traveling to London or Paris. Oh, or am I suppose to give all the money I worked for to those who don't.

If the purse is so disgusting to you... why do you read the articles and take time to comment ? If you hate it so much and are so "nausiated" by the issue ...go read articles on homeless people and orphans. Personaly I don't think their is anything wrong with someone who works hard and decides to reward themselves. Not every spare penny in my wallet has to go to other people, their can be a balance struck between self indulgence and philanthropy. Remember, those who yell the loudest usualy do the least.

well, i'll prove the writer wrong and say i am in the middle on this one... although it's kinda futurishly cool-looking, it's also kinda like the kind of bags all the really girly girls in my grade would carry around and try to tell everyone how unique they are for buying it.
anyway, i'll also be in the middle on the spending money issue. i think it's absolutely ridiculous to spend this amount of money on a bag. ridiculous. (i have about 10 bags and have only bought one. it's much more fun knitting or sewing your own; at least then it is actually unique and fun.) i'm not saying all your spare money should go to charity. i have a chronic illness. it costs a lot of money to stay healthy. but i still like getting something nice once in a while. on the other hand, a bunch of people who will say it's okay to splurge if you earn the money are the kind of people who won't just splurge on this one purse- they'll buy expensive high-heels the next day, an insanely expensive sportscar after that, they'll shop at the stores in the mall that charge nearly $100 for a shirt that isn't even all that special.
that's all i'm trying to say. keep in mind that there are other people who could benefit greatly from some help, and try to find a balance between indulging yourself and going way overboard for something you really don't need. like this bag.

I love how people think they are so high and mighty about how they "would" spend their money. Get some then go talking. I have a few high end items in my closet but I am by no means wealthy. I enjoy these items and have no guilt about owning them. I do have a problem with people who know better.

As far as the bag its self is concerned, I didn't love it at first sight. That does not mean it won't grow on me. Go anika, those people better hurry up and get back on their crosses the masses are going to miss them.
