Panguipulli, Chile, Estate of the Day

There are not too many homes like today's estate out there. This one is in the area of Panguipulli, Chile and is styled like a 19th Century German villa, an homage to earlier German settlers. The home is on 37 acres on the shore of Lake Panguipulli. The land is gorgeous, studded with sculptures and fountains, native trees, azaleas and hydrangeas. The three-bedroom main house is just 1,400 square feet but there is also a four-bedroom guest cottage, an office studio with a stone fireplace tucked into the forest, two caretaker's houses and a boathouse and a summer picnic terrace. Oh, Wow!

Good thing that there are more pictures than usual; the variety of "looks" that this estate has deserve it.

By the way. Are you sure this only 1,400 ft2? That seems rather small. Specially, for a main house in almost 40 landscaped acres.

From the posting, 450 square meters. That's 4,844 square feet.

If you were see only the pictures and no information about it's location, you easily believe it to be in Germany, Northern Italy or Austria. I personally thought of Chile as a mountainous, austere environment. No wonder some many people from Europe and North America are moving to that region.
