You're right John. It is plain and that kitchen is a very common sight in NYC apartments.
Whoever buys this will purchase for the views and will probably gut and rework the entire apartment. Nice sized outdoor space though. The bedrooms seem to have plenty of privacy. It's not as if you have to walk through one to get to another. They're all completely independent with own baths and all. I must be missing something. But I doubt it.

JW-C

Comments on CitySpire Duplex, Estate of the Day

I could see reducing the upper floor bedrooms from 4 to 3 and create a large master suite and bath. In addition, move the kitchen from the center to the left wing bedroom/family room and create a "great room" with dining to maximize the viewing potential. Afterall, who would need 5 bedrooms that would be in the market for a place like this?

DJ

Comments on CitySpire Duplex, Estate of the Day

Well, I can see this place being a great home for a family with several children. It's convenient to the park, has a great terrace for children to play and for entertaining, and isn't a museum apartment that kids can't go running through. Plus, it has no dedicated study/office (other than the "library") and at least one bedroom might be a guest suite. I can see a hedgie looking to start a family might like this place.

Or you know, like you said, someone looking to gut it.

Andrew Lam
