Gisele makes the bulk of her money from endorsements. These are huge companies who make millions, so the money the models make is only a fraction of what they generate for these companies. Gisele also makes a killing on flip flops in her native Brazil, and is a very sauvy business woman.
Heidi Klum is also an excellent business woman. She has a sucessful tv show project Runway, and a sucessful jewerly line. The bottom line is these models know how to branch out in other ventures.
Carolyn Murphy is one of the most beautiful and sucessful american models in the business. She has the ability to change her look and never looks the same in each photo. This is one of the things that gets her the big contracts which includes the face of Estee Lauder cosmetics.
Models were almost endangered with celebrities taking a huge share of their work.
A lot of companies like using celebrties to endores their produts. These jobs used to almost always go to professional models. I belive models deserve all the money they get.

Let em enjoy their money their beauty won't last forever ,nor their fame. If they live long they'll be skinny or fat old ladies.

Well envy people, Gisele is perfect, I don't see anything wrong on her, and from what I've seen and heard from her she's very smart as a business woman too

guess actors being unique in the field they are in, are well deserved to earn what they do as the profesion is also so demanding.

I don,t think anyone should be paid million,s of dollar,s based on there look,s. Beauty is a personal preferrence. Atheletes, Entertainers are all overpaid. What about the average person out here trying to keep this country working who can barely rub two pennies together. Also out of all those rich and famous people, how many are actually giving back. How many are trying to help someone else make it,besides helping others like them. Lets keep it real.We need to reward heroes, such as MEN and WOMEN of the military.

I stopped in to read about the model salaries curious what it is a top model does make today and was sickened by the comments ...and so here I am replying. I'm saddened that so many people are so bitter and angry about what other people are paid. As for the comments they are uneducated and overpaid I believe your comments indicate exactly how uneducated you are. Supply and demand is all that allows them to make what they do. More than likely you are working at a low paying job for a large company that is probably paying one of these models or any other model a handsome fee to endorse their clothes, cars, restaurant, or any other product out there ...go talk to the CEO of your company and ask them to funnel some of that money to you and see how successful you are at getting that done. That's the sad fact of working in corporate america someone else determines YOUR salary as much as it determines anyone elses salary whether they are movie or sports celebreties or some "dumb overpaid model" as many have written. It's amazing how people who have so little (or just enough to get by) use that as an excuse to dump and piss all over people who they don't even know all because they have more then they do at least monetarlily speaking ...trashing others because they have more money and making assumptions about what they do or don't do with their money is a poor state of mind. I guess we should all live on the Robin Hood mentality and take from the rich to give to the poor --except people who don't have much are always looking for the handouts from people who do have more ...reality check if we took all their money away and all the money away from every other "rich person" it would be back in the hands of the orginal "wealthy person" in a very short time ...those who don't have much money now would rarely be able to handle more unless they learn how to handle more ....and as it has been shown with many years of lottery winnings - more than 90% of those who win millions have spent it all within a few years and they're right back where they started before their winnings. I guess it's not enough that the media bashes all of these models but the average person does too ...amazing and we wonder how our children learn such disrespect for one another when the adults act like children too ....oh and one more note I'm not a model nor do I know any ...just an observation but if you really liked your life the way it was then why do you feel so compelled to trash others who have more claiming their lives are unfullfilling because they have more money???? and for those who are trashing these women because they have money and yet you want all that wealth too it will never happen for you - you can't trash others success and wealth but expect that somehow you will be bestowed with the very same thing you despise.

Anyone that says they are over-paid, sure millions of dollars is a lot of money, but no one would hesitate to say no if we were offered that kind of money to look beautiful...everyone has their own opinion, I personally think that Adrianna Lima is prettier than Giselle, but obviously I don't write their million dollar checks so it doesnt matter...

Gisele isn't worth two pennies. She is oblivious to the fact that her industry greatly contributes to the rise of eating disorders. Nope, can't be the airbrushed images of an unnaturally endowed skeleton clad in haute couture constantly aimed at today's youth. It's one hundred percent caused by things happening in the home. Stereotypes of beauty have nothing to do with it whatsoever. She should use her stinking fortune to get a brain implant.

Good day, much of the total for earnings for these top models is the endorsements they have and their own lines of products. Like Heidi's Project Runway Tv Show
Kate's new clothing line etc..
have fun

And we wonder why there is an anorexia epidemic in the world?, most women don't look like that, even the supermodels have to half-starve themselves to be that thin and that is the image we are instilling in our girls, and that is not even atractive, look at Sophia Loren what a gorgeous lady and with great curves, now thebones and skin look is in, so sad!
BJ Jul 27th 2007 6:43PM
I wouldn't buy ANYTHING that race trader Heidi Klum is selling, promoting or giving away, period!!!. That goes for any other race trader as well, especially ALL the one's in Hollywood!
Therasa Jul 24th 2007 3:36PM
I'm glad to see that these young women are this successful at what they do.They are gorgeous women that are very good at modeling. If I was that tall, thin and gorgeous I would want to model also.I also hav not heard of anyone of them getting involved in any scandals like the young and rich women in Hollywood.Fashion magazines can you please start putting models on your covers again?

I am not surprised nor shocked at the high price for
"lean meat" in America.
We are still one of the leading countries who continue to take "false pride" in the exploitation of women and the female body.
What ever happened to "the imagination" or "natural beauty"...We want to see these things more often! After all, these things then can be shared and appreciated by young and old.
In my opinion, true Beauty and "Top Modeling" is being able to share an individuals outside and inside in a beautiful, meaningful and respectable way?
Many of these women and men are even more attractive...with their clothes on!
What they may not realize now, is that..The Temple of God...which is their physical body, is PRICELESS!
AM Jul 24th 2007 3:44PM
Wait a minute. Why and who stipulates what genre people should make a lot of money in? The bottom line is that these models have something to offer and get paid for it just as people with a college education get paid for their skills or ample brain power.
Brad Spelington Jul 24th 2007 3:48PM
Every time there is an opportunity to express an opinion in print all the small minded English Majors get the opportunity to make themselves feel superior by nit picking, get over yourselves! Scrutinizing Blogs for an opportunity to make you feel good must be a very empty life. I bet you’re really upset that all the authors of the Bible are dead. Maybe you can send your corrections to the Pope! It’s about content not context jerk.
Diana Jul 24th 2007 3:52PM
Gisele gets paid that much because she has about 30 different contracts with different companies. She doesn't just sit around and only gets out of bed once a week for a mil. She works hard- yet, I do think there are far more professions that deserve it more. That said, if I had that body, I wouldn't be saying no to 33mil!
