You wouldn't peg Disney World as the place to find the latest hot cigar bar but Fuego by Sosa Cigars opened last month on Disney's Pleasure Island.
Cigar Aficionado reports that the cigar bar has a cool bar that looks like a slab of melting ice and a full menu of alcoholic beverages. There is also outdoor seating, Custom wooden humidors offer a variety of cigars include the Fuente Fuente Opus X as well as the house brand
Sosa cigars. Smoking is prohibited throughout much of Walt Disney World and is limited to designated smoking areas. The cigar bar is open from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m.

I AM NOT SURE WHAT DISNEY'S "TARGET CONSUMER" IS WITH THIS CIGAR BAR. I HAVE BEEN TO DISNEY WORLD ONCE. IT WAS NO BIG DEAL. LOTS OF SHOPS BASICALLY. AS FOR YOU SMOKERS WHO FEEL IT IS YOUR "RIGHT" TO LIGHT UP. IT IS THE RIGHT OF US NON-SMOKERS TO BE ABLE TO BREATH AIR THAT IS NOT CARCINOGENIC (LORD KNOWS IT GOT A LOT OF STUFF IN THERE ALREADY). IF YOU WANT TO SMOKE AND ARE TOO WEAK TO STOP, DO SO IN PRIVATE. BUT DON'T USE THE EXCUSE THAT WE ALL DIE OF SOMETHING. WITH TODAYS ADVANCES IN MEDICINE, YOU WON'T DIE, YOU'LL JUST GET SOME DISEASE CAUSED BY YOUR SMOKING AND BE KEPT ALIVE BY TREATMENTS, PUTTING A FURTHER STRAIN ON OUR NATIONAL HEALTH CARE. HOPE YOU ALL LIKE HAULING AROUND YOUR LITTLE OXYGEN MACHINES BEHIND YOU WITH THE CANULAS IN YOUR NOSES. IF YOU ARE LUCKY, YOU'LL EITHER GET THE BIG C (SMALL CELL WOULD BE THE FASTEST) AND DIE OR CORONARY ARTERY DISEASE AND HAVE A MASSIVE MI, BUT YOU'LL PROBABLY JUST GET SICK WITH HARDENING OF THE ARTERIES, COPD (CHRONIC OBSTRUCTIVE PULMONARY DISEASE), EPHESEMA, CARODID ARTERY DISEASE (STROKE), OF COURSE CANCER IN THE BRONCHIAL TREE IS GOOD AND FAST UNOPERABLE KILLER, THROAT OR ESOPHAGEAL CANCERS, MACULAR DEGENERATION (GO SLOWLY BLIND) AND SLOWLY AND INSIDIOUSLY DIE AND PROBABLY TAKE A LOVED ONE WITH YOU WHO BREATHED YOUR SECOND HAND SMOKE. I HAVE NO PITTY FOR YOU!

To number 72 and his/her sympathizers, i say this:
i have a feeling that you stink too, since it's true of so many humans, i've noticed...
the smell of smoke may not be as bad as the body odor of many people who pass by my nose. In fact, the distant smell of a cigarette is far from the worst thing i've smelled. Sometimes,i like it! However, the smell of some people, ahg! But I cannot make laws against them walking around in public.
Furthermore, i'm allergic to many perfumes. there are times i'm in an elevator gasping, anticipating the sinus headache that is sure to follow. Even though i hate the perfumes, i haven't proposed outlawing their manufacture because i believe in freedom for all. Even those who stink, like you controlling fascists.

#77 yeah, Jana, and they accomodate obese people too.

having a smoking area is like having a peeing area in a pool. No matter if your outdors, you still polute the air.

Last I checked, smoking was not illegal. And currently I am under the impression we live in a free society, until a liberal SOCIALIST democrat takes over the White House. Until then, if you don't like smoke, stay in your house. As much as you all would like, you cannot and WILL not impose your paranoid views on a free America. Get a life, get a clue, and if you don't like it, move!!

Disney has always been, and always will be, a fraud. It's never been a good example for kids. It's a business people, your own damn commercialism fed lives are the problem. You ruined our culture for future generations. There is no one to blame but yourselves.

To #78 who said things like: "I HAVE NO PITTY FOR YOU!"
Apparently you have minimal communications skills as well. I'll bet someone like you knows the location of every fast-food joint in town. Obesity is just as dangerous, and to some, just as offensive.
Disney has food service within a quick walk of nearly every attraction, and they serve up a lot of animal fat to a very demanding consumer base. These people are offensive to me, and they will die just as horribly as any smoker, many times from the same causes. You're obviously pretending to be well-versed in medical terminology, what's your take on that, huh?

FOR B13069, WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR STATISTICS? MOST SMOKERS ARE UNDER FORTY. THE BOOMERS HAVE EITHER QUIT OR DIED ALREADY! FOR THOSE OF THE WWII ERA, IF THERE IS A SMOKER STILL ALIVE FROM THAT ERA, THEY SHOULD DONATE THEIR BODY TO SCIENCE AS WE WOULD LIKE TO SEE HOW THEY STAYED ALIVE AND WELL ALL THOSE YEARS!

So are you going to stop driving, Kathryn? (No. 83)

I smoke but definitely am respectful around non-smokers, as should any civil person, i.e., not standing too close to entry areas, etc. However, if a stumbling drunk spills a drink on me, I'm sure it will trigger my lit cigarette to make contact w/the bare forearm in reaction to being surprised by a cold drink. Joke-ing,lol. Point is: it's bizarre when drunks/drinkers complain about smoking as if one vice is superior. Plus, I've never heard of anyone lighting up a couple smokes after work and proceed to beat the wife and kidlets.
Jim Jul 20th 2007 4:31PM
I think that we smokers should unite and linch the non-smokers (Hold them down and blow smoke in their faces.)......oops! I think I've got to much time on my hands and should get a life...lol.
Beth Theiss Jul 29th 2007 11:33AM
I used to smoke and tried to never offend anyone with my habit, but I was offended many times by rude non-smokers. Often their comments were made when there was no smoking going on at all.
If adults at Disney want an adult place to relax and smoke then they should enjoy that option. If smoke is bothersome to you then stay away from the designated place.
The next thing on the list to be banned is your backyard barbeque.

Where is this going to stop? What happened to our rights. I use to smoke and quit but I think everyone should have the right to choose to smoke or not. It's their body and let them do what they will with it. If they have designated area's and bars for smoking so be it. If you don't like it then don't go there. End of story!

To #84 steffani: you sound like some pompous piece of work. As if you've never contributed at all to any commercial venture. Wake-up call: You're using an ISP such as AOL at the moment, aren't you? Do you make your clothing yourself? Do you not wear makeup, or listen to music?
Give me a break, you self-righteous hypocrite. Disney is a business that people support, just as it's a sure bet that McDonald's is a business that you support. Are you going to tell me that the fast food industry or the music industry have our best interests at heart?
All businesses in America run on the revenue generated by consumers. Unless you don't eat, drink, or wear clothes, you're as guilty as the rest of us. Give me a very large break, please.

Have any of you noticed a theme developing in the comments? I've noticed that most of the non-smokers who have posted comments seem to be very angry and accusatory. Why is this? Probably because they are repressed and frustrated that they never do anything fun for themselves. I'm not saying that smoking is fun by any stretch of the imagination. Anyway, if those people out there who crusade to save everyone else from themselves, just stopped and took a step back and let everyone just be...think about what a wonderful world it would be! This smoking issue is just a little schism of what makes this world so horrible sometimes. I'm sure most of us would agree that the Holocaust is a horrible blemish on human history. Let's make an analogy. Hitler (a non-smoker) hated the Jews (smokers). Things started off kind of simple and harmless. The Nazis moved all of the Jews into Ghettos (designated smoking areas) so that they were seperated from the rest of society, but the Jews were still allowed to live their lives relatively untouched. As time went by, the Ghettos weren't good enough for Hitler. He was becoming more controlling and thirsty for power. So he began to gather up the Jews and send them to the concentration camps...as well as death camps. It didn't matter to the Nazis if the Jews had been good, upstanding citizens prior to Hitler's rise to power. All that mattered was that they were Jews, and they were different than everyone else who was in power. So away they went... I'll stop there, because I hope that everyone else knows how the story ends.
The point of this analogy is that people ALWAYS take their agendas too far. It might start off "innocent" like states passing laws to ban smoking restaurants, but eventually those in power will start to reach for more power. For instance, did you know that about a year ago in a small town in California they tried to pass a law that would make it ILLEGAL for you to smoke a cigarette in your car...even your own backyard!
Moral of the story is...Lighten up. Live your life, and let others live their own lives. Stop trying to control the world around you. Nothing good ever comes of it. The world would be such a better place if we could all agree to leave each other alone.

The smoking is in limited areas. That's valid. I myself don't smoke and never will, and I hate smoke. But I value freedom above all, and don't think anyone should dictate what anyone does in a free country so long as what is done is done in a way that doesn't harm others. The smoking area accomplishes that.
justme Jul 20th 2007 4:18PM
definatelly some fuuny, but true comments here, mostly from smokers I must say. the others are too worried about smelling smoke 50 yrds away etc...Nothing better than a good ole country western bar/ dance club, smoke in the air, and people having fun, cause tomorrow, we may not wake up. "My God to reach the time of death, only to find out, I have NEVER lived !!!"...I will be dead B4 this topic ever comes to a head, maybe from smoking, maybe not. As for smelling cause I smoke, I'll get naked and take a shower before sex, there are other smells that are worse !!! LOL...what a trip this discussion has been. No one will win or lose, but I know the comments are funny at times. Ass hole funny, and come back funny. Gotta go, need a smoke !!!
