Cherry Hills Village, Estate Of The Day

Cherry Hills Village in Colorado is a newer build but the floorplan makes it a bit more than your ordinary home. It has five bedrooms and a whopping eight bathrooms spread out over 13,000 square feet. The home's main spaces have an interesting use of lighting that give the rooms a subtle glow. The decor is a bit nondescript but I really love the monumental fireplace which also serves as a room divider in the great room. The home sits on nearly two acres with gardens and courtyards. This home is listed at $8.5 million. After the jump, I bet people look years younger in this home due to the soft lighting.

You do know that this a very good, up to date version of Frank Lloyd Wright Prairie Style houses?
The monumental fireplace, the hearth as center of the home, is part of that style and as are the amazing amount of windows "to bring the outside in" as well as the "fall foliage" color scheme. Even in homes as large as this, the prairie style has a homeyness and comfort that rival craftsman style cottages.
Wright Prairie style homes are considered works of art wherever an original is still standing. The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City even has the entire living room of one, that was sadly demolished, preserved in its entirety (furniture, artwork, rugs, etc.) for all he world to admire.

You would think there would be a mention of Frank Lloyd Wright here. Surely Deidre would have picked up on this overwhelmingly obvious fact.
You're right John, this is a very good, up to date nod to one of the best ever.
