Traveling by plane is always an adventure. Rarely does the experience go as smoothly as one is hoping. I recently experienced a 6 hour flight delay and didn't get on my flight till 2 am! One of the things that I was grateful for while sitting in an uncomfortable chair for 6 hours was that I was dressed comfortably. In the past I have traveled with heels and my feet ended up killing me by the time I landed. I have learned my lesson – travel comfortably.
Tod's Cindy Ballerina fits the bill. Although it has that driving shoe appeal with its rubber sole, I am sure these can handle a flight. They are flat and have a square toe, so no worries about added pressure on the balls of your feet or your toes. They are made of soft leather with elasticized sides for flexibility and a perfect fit. And if you still want to travel with heels, they are small and light enough to just throw them in your bag and change. What more could you ask for?
Price: $325.

Elasticated shoes on a flight? You have GOT to be kidding me.
Long haul flights are no fun as it is, your feet get swollen and having elastic cut into your lovely bloated feet sounds like hell on earth.
Seriously, you should check out the Louboutin slippers (a little 2006 I know but classics just don't go out of style). now THOSE are made for flying

TOO CUTE. Tods constantly hit the mark. As for swollen feet, they wouldn't be that tight fitting. That is unless you have fat feet to begin with. There is an art to successful travel and part of that includes a multitude of chemical aids to help relieve all sorts of associated ailments.
