Ferrari Theme Park to Unseat Disney World as The Happiest Place On Earth!
Ferrari is developing what may be the new "end all, be all" of automotive adventure -- the Ferrari Theme Park, scheduled to open in 2009 on Yas Island, just a 30-minute drive from Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
The $40 million project promises to offer up everything from roller coasters to a pit-lane team experience, go-karts, virtual reality racing simulators, a racing school, and a g-force simulator that helps laypeople experience the forces felt by race car drivers. An interactive museum will also be at hand, particularly useful for cooling off and waiting for your raging endorphins to ebb.
In addition to the park being a sweet tourist destination for gearheads, the economic benefit will be a great perk for Abu Dhabi, which is currently trying to lessen its economic dependence upon the oil business.

Look, I've got all the e-mails with pictures of the Arab indoor ski resort and all that. I am a very patriotic American, and don't like the high gas prices either. However, to harbor hatred and resentment for these folks to build their fun parks is kinda hypocritical isn't it? After all, we have 2 Disney parks, 2 Universal parks, Six Flags from coast to coast, Paramont's parks, Sea Worlds, Busch Gardens, etc. I could go on for pages. How many of these people have multiple cars, plasma screens, PC's, DVD's, A/C, cable, satellite TV, on and on and on, that people have here - even the ones we consider in poverty. Stop yer whinin'!!!
Paul Jun 17th 2007 7:02PM
You see what $3.38 per gallon of gas can build!

Disney is a wonderful place.....however, have you been there lately...its so overcrowded its not funny...and yes, stop being haters...be happy the rest of the world is catching up with us...progress is always good...

Every non-European American should read these comments left by ignorant, prejudiced racists. Some work with you, some live in your neighborhood, some are the people you buy things from everyday. If you've forgotten how much they hate everything non-white, their comments should serve as a quick reminder. Sandniggers, wetbacks, gooks, injuns, niggers---nothing's changed and you're fooling yourself if you think they have just because their daughters can't get enough of my johnson!
ashley Jun 17th 2007 7:16PM
i dont think it sounds much fun, disney land and sixflags are better.
ashley Jun 17th 2007 7:22PM
seriously, i think its not gonna be worth it. 2000 dollars for a 10 hour plane trip there, then 150 to get in, hten u get stalked by creepy islams....not my idea of fun. i like disneyland, where u can bask in the warm california sun without worrying about being kidnapped by muslims.....

The newest attraction at Disney's Animal Kingdom - "Expedition Everest" cost $100 million alone, and that's one attraction! This new place sounds like a joke and who ever wrote this article stating that anything can come close to what Disney has created must be one of the dumbest people on the planet!
Forge365 Jun 17th 2007 7:28PM
hmmm...let's see and compare...
1. Roller coasters...already have them at Disney World and other US sites.
2. Go karts....Orlando
3. Virtual reality racing sims...any good arcade in US.
4. A racing school...which type...take your choice..all in US. (Sebring, FL has a really good one, so does Road Atlanta).
5. And finally, a g-force sim. Disney World strikes again. So does any good roller coaster that is launched not rolled out.
So lets see, other than the chance to spend huge sums of money, travel to a hot (somewhat) hostile environment, and deal with folks that do not speak English, I can get the same experience in Orlando, FL. Oh wait, IT IS the same experience.
'Nuff said.

the only reason why they are building this so called "theme park" is so they can build realistic rides Like how to fly a plane rides..... Are you getting it so far , and teach terrorist how , so they can market it as a fun park , when it's really a training camp. At least the only thing disney has is a bunch of Familys, adults , kids , friends with alot of great memories....and alot of cool rides. thanks but no thanks I'd take Micket any day of the week....ph
Linda Jun 17th 2007 7:44PM
I'm with David Ray, too. I'll be at Disney...and Jakki, I hadn't even thought of Michael being in the area but good point!
honeeey Jun 17th 2007 7:50PM
Okay some of these comments are hilarious but some of them are on the verge of racist. I hate to break the news to you Rjnmea and real america, but this country was built on the backs of many, many races, not just "white men"......David Ray and Khalid, loved your post, very funny.
natalie Jun 17th 2007 7:58PM
why would you go over half way around the world to go to some stupid car amusement park when DISNEY WORLD is right there? stupidity, whoever wrote this article is fishing for controversy, and its nonsense. and im going to have to agree with the "ignorant" americans. i dont see how NOT ignoring the truth is ignorance, but let the over sensitive arabs have their fun....but i have to agree, UAE is probably the safest country in the middle east, and people need to know the difference between iraq and UAE, and im sure some of these assholes dont.

Have any of you uneducated jerks even been to Dubai..can you all even find it on a map? I traveled there and the fact that so many of you pride yourselves on the ignorant WRONG stereotypes set by others makes America sound like a pretty awful place to go. Besides this country was not build on white men..but on the slavery of colored races...so who the hell are any of you kidding. Read your history.
Ann Jun 17th 2007 8:11PM
Slavery in the US ended before any of us were ever born. Why do you hold a grudge against something that never happened to you? Why do you bring up the Indian wars when all you know about them is from History? Why do you slam our President and what did Isreal ever do to you? Oh and by the way, they are not towel heads, they are Arabs. Some good some bad, sounds like anywhere ha? Do any of you know what it means to be an American? American is without color or nationality, a true American is color blind. Or I should say the heart of a true American. I thought this was about a theme park? Anyone who wants to risk it and go check it out, all I have to say is" Have you forgotten?" 9/11. Well, when the church is raptured and all hell brakes lose on this world, even American won't be a safe place anymore.
Jamie Jun 17th 2007 8:14PM
Let me grab my croc's, I am going ...
NOT !
Cathleen Jun 17th 2007 8:20PM
I don't think most Americans would even go there. Europeans will, because of their love for European cars, and racing. But I have a feeling most people in general will be turned off (no pun intended) by the feeling that they aren't as safe there as they would be, say, in Disneyland. Not to mention, what woman would possibly feel comfortable in, and want to bring her children to, that region? I think, basically the only people who will even want to go are rich, European men, from non-oil dependant countries, who don't have to be afraid to turn their backs on the locals....so....very few....
paige Jun 17th 2007 8:58PM
in my last comment there was a keyboard error I meant Mickey and not Micket. Also it costs me a fortune and I mean a ton of money to take my family to the theme parks we have here.... I would'nt be able to afford the plane tickets let alone admission to their park.. along with hotel costs... but if the gas prices go down I could start saving now LOL
Bob Dole Jun 20th 2007 1:38PM
Ya know, some of these comments here show how ignorant some of my country men are. Please remember people not all Americans and not all Conservatives are this way. I'm conservative but do not hold these pathetic uneducated viewpoints.
First the United Arab Emirates is a very progressive community and an US Ally. Those who think that all with an Islamic mindset and belief system based on their fundamentals being terrorist or fascist need to get their heads checked. The hate in the middle east is greatly exaggerated. The primary source of these "INSURGENTS" (look it up) are from Iran and Syria and even the majority in Iran and Syria could care less about US Capitalism. They obviously have their own problems to worry about. There is much more direct hate and blatant racism against Arabs as a whole then there is against Americans by the Islamic make-up. We are combating the fundamentalist and they although a controlling party in many areas are not the dominate of the population. Its just that the primary population does not have the means to oust them. If you want to look at the real enemy in the middle east then turn to the murderous nation of Israel and their disregard for international law and blatant state sponsored terrorism and murder. If you are arrogant enough to ignore them but attack people you know little about well it makes me worry about the fundamental idiot Christians in this nation with a single mindset agenda who are no worse then the fundamentals in the Middle East. So once a gain. the UAE is NOT a threat or danger to the American populace and have been and will continue to be one of our good friends.
Bob Dole Jun 20th 2007 1:47PM
Trisha - Gas prices in the middle east have hardly increased. The prices we pay are for refinement capability within OUR OWN nation having been reduced. The translation in barrel cost for oil is minimal with economic flux however when our ability to refine and get the gas to the consumer is damaged the effect is felt immediately. Our nation is currently barely at 60% refinement capacity which is causing the prices you fucking twit.
