Ferrari Theme Park to Unseat Disney World as The Happiest Place On Earth!
Ferrari is developing what may be the new "end all, be all" of automotive adventure -- the Ferrari Theme Park, scheduled to open in 2009 on Yas Island, just a 30-minute drive from Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
The $40 million project promises to offer up everything from roller coasters to a pit-lane team experience, go-karts, virtual reality racing simulators, a racing school, and a g-force simulator that helps laypeople experience the forces felt by race car drivers. An interactive museum will also be at hand, particularly useful for cooling off and waiting for your raging endorphins to ebb.
In addition to the park being a sweet tourist destination for gearheads, the economic benefit will be a great perk for Abu Dhabi, which is currently trying to lessen its economic dependence upon the oil business.

I agree with most of the people who say this wont unseat Disneyland at all. But i definitely do not agree with REAL AMERICA who says "this country was built on white men"...what a bunch of crock. Last time i checked this country was built on WHITE MEN stealing land from the Natives and the Spanish, and making profit off the BLACK MAN. I am a white person myself, but i definitely dont give whites that much credit.

Khalid...Ignorant Americans? Nah...just wised up and tired of being pushed around by greedy Arab fundamentalists.
Personally, I would rather kiss a camel's backside than travel to the middle east, let alone socialize with people that believe women are disposable. Besides, we are supposed to be the "infidels" and either forced to become muslim or put to death....so why make your job easier by traveling to some dirty hellhole?
Mary Jun 17th 2007 5:37PM
I don't think it's worth the time or the money to go to an Arab country to spend my money on a theme park based on very expensive cars! I rather go to Disneyland anytime where there are several themes to that park and it's only a 2 hour drive from where I live! It's also in the good old USA and I don't have to be concerned about my freedom! And I know some "gearheads" that wouldn't go to this Ferrari theme park either!
KosherPickle Jun 17th 2007 5:38PM
i do not and will not leave my country for leisure purposes or for anything(oh and to fight in a war that I dont believe in).
corbin Jun 17th 2007 5:53PM
Yeah its funny how my tax dollars go to work to bring people from other countries that have sent terrorist over and support them but my wife who is mexican can not get a visa to go to the US to go to disney so I guess maybe we will have to try this new park
for real for real Jun 17th 2007 5:49PM
A white man did everything he possibly could to BUILD this "food-stamp, murdering country". White Racist created the situation, so don't be moaning and complaining about how things have turned out. After all, you whities kidnapped as well as paid others to kidnap people to bring over here to do all your work while you sat your white asses on a horse "over-seeing", or sat on a porch drinking lemonade. You have reaped what you have sowed!!!

This will only appeal to car fanatics. It will never even come close to "replacing Disney" no matter how much they pay AOL to hype it......
Leilani Jun 17th 2007 5:55PM
This strikes me as a fun place for gearheads and maybe an economic upturn will promote something peaceful, but it doesn't sound like a family friendly place. Car racing and toddlers don't mix. And the middle-east, no matter what country, isn't a safe travel destination at the moment. Maybe in twenty years the people will have settled their differences to the point where they don't have freaks wandring the streets shooting everyone, but we still have that problem in downtown LA so I'm not hopeful.
Kurt Jun 17th 2007 5:57PM
And probably managed by Dick Cheney, who will be moving there with Halliburton as the property mangement company, with all his stolen US Oil millions.

I'm embarrassed to read so many of you. Half of you sound like ignorant, white trashed, rednecks.
1st of all, this article's title was just a way to catch your attention and get you to read it. I'm sure no one thinks that a bunch of average vacationing Americans are going to spend the money to go to this theme park. I'm sure they'll target their sales and advertisements to other countries more than they're going to direct it at us.
2nd, it's ignorant and uneducated people spewing off ridiculous comments like the ones by David Ray, Marq, Lisa and (the worse) RLH that breeds hatred and contempt for America.
Tate Jun 17th 2007 6:23PM
lol David Ray...Disneyland was Walt's smartest creation...His greatest creation was Disney World...#19 I don't have a problem with your racist views but if you're man enough to spew them be man enough to use your real name and not your intials.
Uncle Sammy Jun 17th 2007 6:25PM
Arabs...lol....what a pathetic joke...
Uncle Sammy Jun 17th 2007 6:29PM
Dear Kosher pickle..as Jew myself its funny how most Jews (who happen to be liberal)hate Bush yet Bush is the strongest supporter of Israel since Israel's inception....The another liberal contradiction?
Scott Jun 17th 2007 6:36PM
$40 million....Disney World spends over $100 million on ONE RIDE. I don't think anything will ever unseat Disney. There's a reason I work there and don't want to be anywhere else. You just can't beat that "living in the dream" every day.
Larry Jun 17th 2007 6:33PM
wonder if you can drive through the park?...
Lisa Jun 17th 2007 6:33PM
lol.. i hope whoever came up with this idea never helped design a ferrari < cough >
the only place i can think of that would give disney a run for their $$ is UK
little dancer Jun 17th 2007 6:36PM
okay, so here's the thing: Wayne Baxter Denbow is totally right!!!! it's a work of art (i couldnt say it better; i'm not even gonna try). that park is fantastic. it's way more than rides: it's atmosphere. it's magic. it's practically indescribable. and i've been to the one in france, too. even THAT couldn't really compete with the original masterpiece. it's clean, it's pretty, it's happy and bubbly.
now i'm not saying i won't check out this new park- and i'm not saying it'll tank. it may do very well, and it might be fun. ((i enjoy 6 flags and great america and universal studios all just fine, but they're no disneyland.)) again, i'd like to echo Wayne Baxter Denbow: "NONSENSE!"
just don't make up claims like that...because they just are silliness.

Ya, with this stupid Iraq war, that $40 million is most likely our money that we paid out to these countries to get gas for our cars. So thanks to us in the Western world they now have a theme park. I'll stick to Disney thank you very much
Jim Jun 17th 2007 6:41PM
I just love the Arab world. Hordes of their people live in war and poverty and their princelings spend their money on this crap (the UAE is becoming synonymous of ridiculous displays of wealth) then they wonder why fundamentalists want to kill them.
It won't unseat Disney because A) it is in the middle of nowhere B) Disney wanted his parks to be accessible to everyone not just playgrounds for the rich
Donna Jun 17th 2007 6:43PM
I can understand how attractive this theme park may be but surely no one could possibly think it could compare to Disney. Any theme park that focusus on only one thing, in this case cars, is going to limit its customer base. Disney covers all bases, the kid in all of us plus it's the first of it's kind. I wish Ferreri god luck but don't try to be Disney, just be the best CAR theme park around.
