Ferrari Theme Park to Unseat Disney World as The Happiest Place On Earth!
Ferrari is developing what may be the new "end all, be all" of automotive adventure -- the Ferrari Theme Park, scheduled to open in 2009 on Yas Island, just a 30-minute drive from Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
The $40 million project promises to offer up everything from roller coasters to a pit-lane team experience, go-karts, virtual reality racing simulators, a racing school, and a g-force simulator that helps laypeople experience the forces felt by race car drivers. An interactive museum will also be at hand, particularly useful for cooling off and waiting for your raging endorphins to ebb.
In addition to the park being a sweet tourist destination for gearheads, the economic benefit will be a great perk for Abu Dhabi, which is currently trying to lessen its economic dependence upon the oil business.

Nothing can unseat Disney, at least not to the Western world, just for the sentimental value alone. I'm a big kid when it comes to the older movies. I look back fondly on the three times I've been to Disney World (well, the last two...I was 3 the first time). But, I admit the next time I go to Orlando, DisneyWorld will probably just be an afterthought: 2009/2010 Harry Potter Theme Park, here I come.

Ummmm, isn't Michael Jackson supposed to be in that general area with HIS theme park? And aren't men who love cars referred to as "boys"? Am I the only one doing the math??? Creepy....totally creepy. Before I go, I want to see the laws on the books about pervs who target kids.

When this goes out of business, the employee's can
come to America and my government will force someone to give them a job and a free ride through life on
me and the white men who built this food stamp murdering country.

I hate to say it-but I'm with David Ray on this one & totally agree with 'real america'. That doesn't make me ignorant, it makes me a realist!!! I'm sure there are others to agree with us.

You've got to be wrong about the cost of the project. 40 million won't buy diddly squat in today's dollars.
coolnstff Jun 17th 2007 3:07PM
IT sounds interesting and probably would be fun, but if you don't like cars or aren't old enough to drive, aren't you prety much out of luck? Also, would I have to wear a burqua? I don't think I would enjoy anything if I have to.

Disneyland (Anaheim, CA) is a work of art.
It was Walt Disney's greatest creation.
When it opened it completely changed the amusement industry.
It was the birthplace of the "modern" roller coaster(tubular-steel tracks).
The attraction is the "Matterhorn" and it changed roller coasters forever.
Do you think the new "Ferrari" theme park could live up to that kind of pedigree?
Unseat Diasneyland? Nonsense.

Imagine what they can build once gas hits $4.00 a gallon
Mike Jun 17th 2007 3:28PM
I'm sure $40 million will cover it there. . . that's why they aren't building it in Florida.

Sorry this "ignorant" american would rather spend her money in America, instead of giving it to someone and become a target of assholes who hate Americans. Keep your theme park we will keep ours.
TRISHA Jun 18th 2007 11:53PM
AMERICA MUST BE STUPID WE ARE PAYING FOR THIS WITH OUR OUTRAGES GAS PRICES. THEY ALSO BUILT A HUGH INDOOR SKI RESORT IN THE DESERT SO THEY CAN SKI ON US. WHAT NEXT???
rose Jun 17th 2007 4:05PM
YAWN .... I was bored just reading about it. Thanks but no thanks. I have no interest in traveling to an Arab country to go to a theme park. Give me a break. Let all the rich Arabs waste their time and money in the Ferrari Theme park. It will be all men and boys there, anyway. The women and girls will not be allowed to go.
