Damien Hirst Is In The Bracelet Business

Artist Damien Hirst has been in the news a lot lately for his diamond and platinum skull that he has valued at $99 million. He also has created something a little less pricey for art-loving jewelry lovers Vogue UK reports that he has created a limited edition range of charm bracelets that are for sale on his website, Other Criteria. The bracelets are adorned with Hirst's signature pills. There are ten bracelets in 18K gold and 50 in sterling silver. Each one is numbered and engraved with the artist's signature. The gold version sells for £25,000 and the silver is £15,000.

not terribly original, but then again neither is Damien Hirst. He repackages ideas that have been around forever as if he were the first to think of doing it. Irritating that hes getting paid for it. I wish people would stop throwing money at artists who steal their ideas from others.

Picasso said ” Bad artists copy. Good artists steal.” I enjoy that a fine artist has moved into the world of "craft" by using jewelry and jewelry materials as a vehicle for his ideas.
