Corum Golden Bridge Artisan Watch

The latest version of Corum's classic Golden Bridge watch is the Golden Bridge Artisan. This amazingly detailed watch is tonneau-shaped with a rose gold case, four sapphire crystals and a handpainted dial that takes 36 hours to create. The watch has a mechanical movement with 18k black gold open-work hands and a black crocodile strap. Just 50 pieces of this watch are being made.

My Gawd. The "luxury" items that have been presented recently on this site, exclusive of (most of) the "estates of the day" have been some of the fugliest things I've ever seen.

Remember, you can't buy taste...

I don't completely like the idea, I would say that the Golden Bridge watch is much more interesting due to the novelty value of transparent front-to-back case, but to say that this is fugly? Clearly not!
This watch showcases some of horology's high finesse - the entire movement (balance, escapement, mainspring and geartrain) is contained on one bridge, and is finished impeccably at that.
Just what do you consider good taste then? Artisan touches like enamel and painting has been recently repopularized on watch dials, and this one celebrates intricate art of miniature dial-painting. This watch is a purist's dream, although as I said earlier, I prefer the one without the dial.
