
It's not the first vodka we've seen that is
dedicated to saving a species of great cat but
Jaguar Vodka does it in a new way. The vodka is made from sugar cane and water from Barbados but, as
Rick Dobbs of Martini Lounge points out, the spirit doesn't become rum because it doesn't have the sugar and spices added and the molasses taste is reduced. Some of the proceeds from the vodka go to helping to preserve the rainforest, the habitat of the jaguar and the company says they are working with the largest jaguar preserve in Central America to help preserve jaguar habitats. The vodka sells for around $30 and is currently in 12 states.
